Book Reviews of 125 Best Cheesecake RecipesBook Review: Amazing book! Summary: 5 Stars
I have to put a warning on this book. Once you read the tips section and try a few of his recipes you will see how easy and actually quick with regards to prep time that it really is to make a great cheesecake and then you start making way too many of them! I've tried for years to make a good cheesecake and they just never turned out quite right, the crust was burned, or the filling was grainy, or something else was just not right. I have made 4 cakes from this book and each one has been fabulous, bakery quality each time. I'm especially pleased with the section on guilt-free cheesecakes. They're not exactly guilt-free, slightly-less-sinful would be a better description, but you would never know it to taste them.
If you have always wanted to be able to bake an amazing and beautiful cheesecake as the centerpiece dessert of a holiday or party this is the book for you.
Edit added: I've now made about 10 cakes from this book and they have still all turned out perfect. I made the peanut butter cheesecake and brought it to work, my coworkers asked me where I had bought it from since they wanted to purchase one. I also made the minty chocolate cheesecake as the dessert for Christmas Eve. My family raved about it and also had to double-check that it was homemade since it turned out so fabulous they couldn't tell if it was store bought or not.
Book Review: This book title is TRUE!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I planned to take a cheesecake class taught by George Geary at a local cooking school. When I was forced to work on the day of the class, I ordered the book from Amazon and decided this would be my substitute for taking the class.
Although I have only tried one of the recipes (Chocolate Cherry Cheesecake), I believe that as I work through the rest of the recipes, they will all be as amazing as this one. I took this one to my family Thanksgiving dinner and everyone just LOVED it!
Be sure to read pages 8 through 20 (especially "Basic Techniques for a Perfect Cheesecake"). I have been making cheesecakes for about 25 years and this book supplied me with quite a bit of helpful information regarding the basics.
The book has plenty of pictures as well as 13 recipes for sauces/toppings to serve over your finished cheesecake.
I can't wait to try more-next on my list are the Turtle Cheesecake and the French Apple Cheesecake.

Book Review: Cheesecake Heaven! (should be the book's title) Summary: 5 Stars
After paging through a number of cheesecake books at the bookstore, this is the one I chose as the best for my purposes. There is a wonderful variety of recipes, including savory. G. Geary's straightforward writing style helps to calm the fears of even the novice baker. I especially like the introductory sections for equipment and ingredients, and the useful tips alongside each of the recipes. I'm sure I will use this book often. These probably are the best 125 cheesecake recipes.
A couple of other reviewers complained about the lack of pictures. This is a case of being "darned if you don't, darned if you do". More pictures would drive the cost of the book up considerably, spurring complaints about the price. By my count, there are 17 gorgeous full page photos (including the front cover), representing nearly 15% of the recipes. This should be enough to demonstrate how beautifully all of the recipes will turn out...even to the dullest of imaginations.
Book Review: Oh my goodness it's Cheesecake!!! Summary: 5 Stars
Oh my goodness, it's cheese cake !!! This is what my mother heard when she took a cheesecake to work. Such a delicious delicacy, that one can only have but so many times a year... So when the eyes start bulging and the mouth starts... well, you get the picture.
This book is a must have. Especially for people like me who has no talent for deriving different recipes from a single source, I needed this book. Just skimming over the titles of the recipes I cried. George Geary did a fabulous job in compliling so many wonderful treats from just one...
Today, I will be making the Farmers Cheesecake, then for my siblings birthday, the Berry Berry Berry Cheesecake, and who knows after that. I just might purchase his Cheesecake bible.
Highly enjoy and recommend this book. He makes it so easy... Thanks George Geary.
Thanks Amazon! Great service as usual.
Book Review: Best Cheesecake book Summary: 5 Stars
I have tried various recipes from this book and all of them have been quite excellent! At first I was a little put off with some of the recipes using 4 packages of cream cheese instead of only 2 (which is what I'm used to)and using this much for home consumption seems a bit excessive to me. SO I tried halving the recipes for the fillings that call for 4 packages and made them 2 instead (every filling ingredient was halved as well) but I still retained the same amount for the crust. The results were perfect and just right for us! Glad I decided to do this!
I'm glad that Geary included a bunch of no bake recipes which is so convenient to make when you don't have much time to bake....the chocolate mocha chunk no bake cheesecake was spectacular! I also particularly liked his selection of nutty cheesecakes and tropical ones such as the pina colada.
