Book Reviews of 200 Best Panini Recipes

Book Review: Great companion for the Panini Maker
Summary: 4 Stars

I ordered this 200 Best Panini Recipes book from Amazon along with my first Panini Maker, a Cuisinart .Cuisinart GR-1 Griddler Panini and Sandwich Press, and this gives me lots of new ideas to try, using new as well as familiar ingredients and a variety of breads. The unused breadmaker has been pulled back into service as well. So far my husband has enjoyed all of the ones I've tried. I like the variety in the recipe book. It makes sandwich making a lot more more interesting and simple lunches at home more special.

Book Review: I lived in Italy, I know what the real deal is.. this is it!
Summary: 5 Stars

After living in Italy, and traveling there extensively with my wife, needless to say some of the best meals we have had have been in gas station coffee bars. The number one selling MEAL in these places?? Panini's! Mario Batali will agree there's nothing like a fresh Panini off the press at an Auto Grill. Those that get it, get it. BUT just short of hopping on a plane and renting a car to get to an awesome Panini, get this book! It's the next best thing. See actual pictures of our Panini press in action on our blog site at: http://www.poggiosecco.com/2008/07/panini-for-your-pleasure-please.html

Book Review: If the book were edible...
Summary: 5 Stars

...I'd eat it. This book is outstanding. The author/chef had the ability to demonstrate some pretty sophisticated recipes that anyone can understand and follow (including me). Many of the recipes rival similar sandwiches I've eaten in trips to Italy and France. I enjoyed this book (and the results) so much that I bought additional copies as gifts. This has turned out to be a pretty good idea in that the recipients are now making ME the sandwiches.
One of the things I enjoy about the book are the "Tips" that are provided with each recipe. The Salmon Croquette (pg 65) is MONEY!

Book Review: Fabulous!
Summary: 5 Stars

I just picked up a copy of this book and I have already made a handful of these recipes. They are SUPER easy, and a lot of the ingredients are items that most people probably have on hand. My favorite so far is the grilled chicken, roasted peppers, spinach and jack cheese. Another thing I really like about this book is that you can either use store-bought dressings or you have the option to make your own from the recipes included at the back of the book. If you don't already have a panini grill, she includes helpful tips on picking one out.

Book Review: Needs more pictures...
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a great book as it does not limit itself to "just" recipies, but also offers hints, tips, and suggestions - from purchasing your panini maker to selecting what foods to use. Recipes include all types of panini's - breakfast to dessert, as well as condiments and spreads. If you are only going to have one panini cookbook, this is the one IMO.

However, there is a shortcoming in that it includes very few pictures of the finished items....which I think makes a good cookbook truly great. Hence, only 4 stars.
