Book Reviews of 74 Seaside Avenue (Cedar Cove, Book 7)

Book Review: Enough Already!
Summary: 1 Stars

I love Debbie Macomber, and have almost everything she has written, with the exception of this series. I quit reading this series after about the 4th or 5th book. In an effort to make each book stand on its own, the subsequent books devote entirely too much time filling you in on what has gone before. When it takes 6 chapters to get back to the people you were reading about in chapter one, and who the book is supposed to be about, I feel I have wasted my time and my money. If I wanted a rehash of the first books in the series, I would dig them out and re-read them. This series has long since lost any appeal it had for me. Enough already! Give this town and the people in it a rest and give us something new!

Book Review: Another great visit to Cedar Cove
Summary: 5 Stars

The worst part about this book is waiting for the next one. I love Cedar Cove. It's like visiting with friends or catching up on family. It is also easy to read when you have a hectic life and can only read in short time spans. I think each book gets better, but I found the whole Russian evil chess player story a little out of place in the series. Don't get me wrong, it didn't slow down my reading.

I love all Debbie Macomber's series and books. But this series is the best and warmest by far. I hope it never ends.

Book Review: Better than book 6
Summary: 3 Stars

I didn't think I would go on, but I found book 7 better in story content than book 6. I am looking forward to book 8 as there were some things left unresolved in this last one.
I would recommend to Debbie, however, that she not add any more people to her cast of characters. Even with the cheat list in the front to refresh our memories, there are just too many and a new reader would find it frustrating. Less is more. I still like her writing and look forward to the Christmas book in Cedar Cove.

Book Review: Least favorite of the series
Summary: 3 Stars

I have read the entire series and will read No. Eight that is coming out as a library book. I won't pay for it because I am not sure it will be great. I loved the books from the beginning especially the first four but the last ones are not nearly as engaging. The seventh one was somewhat silly and unbelievable. A chess master and a beautician? THe premise is rather unlikely and I did not care for her quirky family - rather trashy. I would skip it.

Book Review: riveting!
Summary: 5 Stars

I LOVE the Cedar Cove series and I am waiting anxiously for the 8th book! I started reading this series when I came across the 5th book in the grocery store and I was so engrossed in the characters and have a personal connection to the location, that I went online to Amazon and bought the first 4 books and then waited for the 6th and 7th book to be released. I don't want the story to end, it would be like moving away from people you love!
