Book Reviews of A Breath of Snow and Ashes (Outlander)

Book Review: OUTSTANDING - AWESOME- PERFECT
Summary: 5 Stars

What more can I say. This book is outstanding, just as the entire series and of course JAMIE is yummy like always! I do want to correct one thing. - This is NOT the final book in the series. I just left Diana's website and she reassures us that there will be at least one more book, maybe two for Jamie and Claire!!! YEAH. That is all she will promise at this point, but I know we all sigh a breath of relief to know we have more Jamie to come :).
As for the book - READ IT. If you haven't read the others first, put it down, RUN to the bookstore and buy the series. Then find a comfortable place, away from the world, and ENJOY!!! It is ABSOLUTELY worth every minute.

Book Review: An Epic Return
Summary: 5 Stars

A BREATH OF SNOW AND ASHES give us our characters back as we expect them to be, larger than life beckoning us on to number seven with impatient expectations. Okay, this one more than lives up to Diana Gabaldon's standard of long books with very fine print. But you hang on, even with a magnifying glass through every word.
Diana is one of the few authors whose descriptions match the little essays of Victor Hugo, who was paid by the inch. You read them, even if they don't advance the storyline. That is the remarkable talent that keeps us waiting for the next installment.

Book Review: Great book!
Summary: 5 Stars

Really, really great book. This sets up the revolution perfectly! It also reveals a lot of little mysteries, and Bree becomes . . . nice. No, they never get a break, but they decided in the end of Outlander (or maybe it was the beginning of Dragonfly) what their life was going to be like. It's not like they're just randomly thrown in the middle of trouble all the time. Plus, this book really gets into Jamie's head a lot more and you finally understand why he does some of the things he does. It's a great read.

And in the Outlandish Companion, there is an exerpt from the next book... don't know how many people have found that yet ;)

Book Review: Next Please, Diana!
Summary: 4 Stars

The latest book in a series of 6 (the Outlander Series), it was good like all her books are good--brilliantly researched, expertly developed. It was also drawn out and I felt she cheated the story line to allow her to write another installment. If you have a few months, read the series. It's about an American nurse (later doctor) who travels back in time to 19th century Scotland. It's fascinating and you learn--history, botany, medicine, and so much more--and like it. The male protagonist, Jamie Fraser, is one of my most loved characters of all time. The series is worth the time just to get to know him.

Book Review: A Breath of Snow and Ashes
Summary: 5 Stars

Diana Gabaldon does it again! I started many years ago on the Outlander series and have not yet been dissapointed with any of the books. The best part is that the books are so long that I have many hours of pleasure to look forward to. I will certainly reread this one, as I have reread all the others at least once. I don't know if there will be any more stories of Claire and Jamie or even of Brianna and Roger, but one can only hope. Kudos to Ms Gabldon, I am proud to share a state with this excellent author.
