Book Reviews of A Breath of Snow and Ashes (Outlander)Book Review: A Breath of Snow and Ashes Summary: 5 Stars
Diana Gabaldon's furtile imagination and detailed research has produced another riveting novel. Jamie, Claire and their clan continue their life's adventure in the Colonies. As I read with rapt attention, at one point I exclaimed, "Oh my God", out loud as another unexpected twist appeared on the page. Fortunately, I was alone and there was no one around to think I was wierd. There's only one more book left and I will be sorry to say goodbye to these remarkable characters. I have the movie cast in my mind.
Book Review: Again satisfied.... Summary: 5 Stars
If you have read all of the other "Outlander" books, and are still compelled to read more of Jamie and Claire, you will not be dissapointed. I think some of the reviews I read were extemely harsh in disfavor of Ms Gabaldon's latest editions, I challenge them to find another author that will go to lengths she does in character developement and still keep the story alive and "in love". I hope this is not the end and she will write of them again! I enjoy the maturing of Jamie and Claire, and think you will too.
Book Review: Another great addition to the Fraser family saga Summary: 5 Stars
I discovered the Outlander series several years ago and was immediatly hooked on both Ms. Gabaldon's incredible story-telling and her ability to weave real history through the tales to make the past really come alive. This latest addition may be the best yet. I could not put it down and cannot wait for the next installment to come out. I would recommend this book (and all of the Outlander series) to anyone who enjoys great stories, a little romance and a bit of a history lesson tucked inside.
Book Review: Another well-written and engaging story Summary: 5 Stars
As a fan of the Outlander series, this latest book was eagerly awaited. I am happy to say, it didn't dissapoint. The story flowed so smoothly and it was such a pleasure to read that I hated to put it down, even after reading the last page. The characters I had come to know and love where all there, each as colorful and as real as ever. I love that after so many years and so many words written, Ms. Gabaldon stays true to her characters and keeps them fresh and engaging. Well done!
Book Review: Sadly disappointed! Summary: 1 Stars
Jamie and Claire are my all time favorite fictional couple, but I have to say that they were lost in this book. The book was tedious and long-winded, not to mention the fact that there were far too many predictable scenes where someone had to save someone from someone else. Quite frankly, I was bored and skipped most of the book, reading only the very beginning and the end. I've never done that with any other Diana Gabaldon book. What a supreme disappointment!
