Book Reviews of A Dangerous FortuneBook Review: This is absolutely one of the best books I have ever read. Summary: 5 Stars
Follett's characters come to life in this exceptional book. I read this book in 3 days, this is quite out of the ordinary, I am a VERY slow reader. I just couldn't put it down! I recommend this to anyone, especially avid Follett fans. I have also read "THe Man from St. Petersburg", "The Eye of the Needle", "Night Over Water", and "The Modigliani Scandal". I can safely say that this is the best of previously mentioned books, all excellant.
Book Review: Ken Follett fan Summary: 5 Stars
I really cannot add to all the reviews already listed, just to add that this was the first Ken Follett book I ever read, and I have since read ALL of his books, except his extreme most recent(2010) book. Loved them all, especially the two monsters(900+ page) books, Pillars of the Earth and World Without End, as well as The Key To Rebecca and Lie Down with Lions, just to name two more. Had seen Eye of the Needle movie before later reading it. All very good stuff.
Book Review: One of Follett's best Summary: 5 Stars
This is an intriguing book, in an historical setting which is richly detailed and explained. It starts with a murder, which remians unsolved for many years, and goes on to follow the lives of the characters on that fateful day.And it is the characters which carry the story, though of course we all want to know who did it, and we do find out by the end. But the story along the way is gripping and entertaining, with some real baddies, and a satisfying ending.
Book Review: AWESOME BEYOND WORDS! Summary: 5 Stars
I HATE novels, but Ken Follett is the only modern author I read other than the great classic writers. No other book has captivated me quite like this one, and I never wanted the story to end. Don't let the size scare you...I savored every word of it. Screw Shakespeare, if you only read one book in your lifetime-- read this one. Ken Follett, if you ever happen to read this (haha)-- Thank you for writing such an amazing story! You are totally awesome!
Book Review: Absolutely Incredible Summary: 5 Stars
This was my second book by the author, after "Night Over Water," and I was not disappointed. The two books are not similar at all, except in their quality of writing and very engaging plot. Characters are well developed and a reader can relate. "A Dangerous Fortune" has to do with English upper-class society, intrigues, banking system, inheritance issues, love, lust, deception, and more deception. A fantastic read. Highly recommend.
