Book Reviews of A Dangerous FortuneBook Review: A well developed plot and great charcters Summary: 5 Stars
This book was as good as any I have ever read. The 500 and some pages went by quickly and I hated having to put the book down. The amount of details in this book is numerous, and you never know when a seemingly insignificant detail will become important. And, the fact that the book was set in the 1800's only added to the realism and probable accuracy of the book. If you have never read a book by Ken Follet, you should stronglyconsider this book.
Book Review: What a magnificant story!! Summary: 5 Stars
Ken Follett truly captures the essence of what 19th century England was all about. He uses fantastic characters who will not disapoint and an incredible story to mold them into. This is Ken Follett at his best. There is no doubt in my mind that this ranks right there with his other bestsellers. You won't be able to put the book down even if you tried. Gives a startling clear picture on the world of banking in the 1800's. BUY THIS BOOK!
Book Review: Excellent page-turner! My first Follett but not the last! Summary: 5 Stars
Ken Follett has put together a great story of intrigue, deceipt, and adversity. This was my first Follett novel and I will definitely have to read more now. This book actually reminds me a lot of Jeffrey Archer's "As the Crow Flies." Just when things get bad for the good guys, they only get worse. How events unfold as the story reaches its climax had me grinning from ear to ear. Make sure to check this one out!
Book Review: Surprising, Compelling Time Travel. Summary: 4 Stars
I've always liked Ken Follett's stuff, but this book surprised the heck out of me. First, I didn't expect the saga of Victorian intrigue, and I didn't expect a book about bankers to be so human and compelling. Each character is expertly brought to life. Even the most hateful characters remain human and at times sympathetic. The era is very effectively brought to life without using the easy short cut of known history.
Book Review: Good Story, Keeps getting better and better Summary: 4 Stars
This was the third book of Ken Follett I have read. In addition I do not read a lot. However, this book had a great story that kept getting better and better. There were a lot of characters and it took a while to get them straigh and their relationship with one another. However there was a family tree chart in the front of the book that helped. I definately enjoyed it and would highly recommend it...
