Book Reviews of A Dangerous Fortune

Book Review: Excellent, well written book!
Summary: 5 Stars

This book is definately an attention getting book. I really like Ken Follet's style of writing, especially in this book. I have found it very hard to put down. You will start reading it and then pretty soon you are caught up in the story and the problems that each charcater is having. It is just an excellent, well written book that I would recommend to anyone that likes interesting books.

Book Review: One of my favorite books!
Summary: 5 Stars

I read this book years ago and still remember how much I enjoyed it. It has a terrific mystery story, and interesting and well-developed characters. I read this book during a ten-hour plane trip and the book was so riveting that I barely remember the flight itself. If you enjoyed this book I also recommend Ken Follett's "Pillars of the Earth". That was a fantastic story, too.

Book Review: Not terrible, not great
Summary: 3 Stars

You will easily be able to finish this book, you won't be bored and give up reading it. However the characters seem recycled, the plot was not terribly unpredictable, and little effort was put into immersing the reader into the atmosphere of the book. Follett can and has written incredible novels but this one seems like a bland, generic version of a Follett novel. I was disappointed.

Book Review: Very enjoyable!
Summary: 4 Stars

I have read a few of Follett's books and really enjoyed them. This book was equally enjoyable but didn't fit into the "spy" genre like the other ones (i.e.; JackDaws). It really shows that he is a versatile writer that he can change genres successfully.
You can read a summary of the plot in other reviews. I'll simply tell you that it was a page turner and worth the read.

Book Review: "Dynasty" in Elizabethan England!!!
Summary: 4 Stars

That's how I'd describe this book. It shows an inner look into a powerful english banking family. Like any family, they have their secrets, and quite a few perversions too!

This is definitely not my hostorical era of choice, but the story pulls you in, and keeps you fascinated until the last page.

A solid story that didn't disappoint. Give it a shot!
