Book Reviews of A New Song (The Mitford Years, Book 5)

Book Review: I never want to leave
Summary: 5 Stars

Every time I get a new Karon novel, I am instantly transported to a place I never want to leave. I have to keep reminding myself that these people are fictional characters and that I can't join their church. Jan Karon must be a remarkably happy woman to write books which exude comfort and joy. I've hooked my mother and several friends on the citizens of Mitford!

Book Review: What did I miss?
Summary: 4 Stars

Wholesome, and down to earth book, maybe not as developed as the previous four, due to the opportuntity to build on the history established at Mitford. However, I must have missed something along the way, was the man at the end of the book in the white shirt Morris, or the outcast choir leader, who abandoned his family?

Book Review: Another winner
Summary: 5 Stars

In A New Song, Father Tim and his wife Cynthia take up temporary residence in a new town, and a number of new memorable characters get added to the Mitford list. There is great continuity, and as usual, the story is heartwarming and insightful. I can't wait for the next installment in this wonderful, uplifting series!

Book Review: Then Sings My Soul
Summary: 5 Stars

"A New Song" is capable of lifting one's soul from under winter's repression;whether it is weather or lost soul related. This book, like Jan's others, provides a cool, pristine drink from a novel bubbling with joy, life, and laughter. It satisfies the thirst for a good read that is NOT filled with sex, violence, and vulgarity!

Book Review: A Wonderful Song!
Summary: 5 Stars

Another wonderful work from Jan Karon. Sweeps you into another world, upward ever higher til you see the face of heaven. So refreshing to read uplifting, wholesome works full of grace and redemption. Very reminiscent of Shade of the Maple by Kirk Martin. I always look forward to the next Jan Karon novel!
