Book Reviews of A Single ManBook Review: Interesting read Summary: 4 Stars
So I purchased this book after seeing the movie and have to say that this is one of the few instances when the film is actually better than the novel. Don't get me wrong, I liked the book and the elements included there in that did not make their way onto the screen, but reading it really highlighted the great work that Ford et.al. did on the film.
Book Review: The book behind the movie. Summary: 5 Stars
Great story behind the current movie. Unfortunately much of the book is omitted in the movie version. I especially enjoyed the account of the class given by the chief character to his college students. (This is largely omitted in the movie version.) Great introduction to Isherwood's writing.
Book Review: death Summary: 5 Stars
this is a book everyone should read, better than a medical/psychological attempt to prepare for the death of love and one's self; I can't do it justice in a few words, but if you have any concern for the the "accidents" of life and love and death--including your own, this is a MUST read
Book Review: NOT on Kindle!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
This is one of the best books by one of the 20th Century's best authors. It's now been made into a major motion picture. And it's not available on Kindle. This kind of thing is soooooooo frustrating for Kindle users!
Book Review: A Single Man Summary: 4 Stars
"A Single Man' was a homosexual who lost his lover due to an accident...Homosexuals suffer a loss just like everyone else, but perhaps it may be more difficult and stressful since the relationship may be closeted
