Book Review: Lives up to it's name

As I was coming up on the time to renew my ACLS certification for the first time, I began going over the official AHA ACLS Handbook and found some areas wanting for a more in depth treatment of the material. I found it in this book. Each section has pre and post tests to evaluate your knowledge and the author helps the reader understand some of the nuances of the application of the knowledge and research that the ACLS guidelines are based on. I feel more confident about my recert in a couple weeks.Book Review: ACLS Study Guide 3rd ED

I love this book! The author sounds exactly like me...scared to death to take an ACLS course. I have just started using this book but so far it has helped to calm my fears/anxiety. I also have the American Heart Association book, but this one explains things very basically for those of us not in critical care and/or have no critical care experience. It gets to the point in an understandable way. I would recommend it to anyone!

The book is very thorough and will certainly fill in any knowledge gaps you might have. I used the book to review the ECG analysis, but I wouldn't recommend reading through the entire book unless the material is completely unfamiliar to you. Focus more on the AHA handbook (case studies and pre-test). Your time will be better served in this manner without being overloaded.Book Review: ACLS STUDY GUIDE

THIS IS AN EXCELLENT STUDY GUIDE BY ANY STANDARDS. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS GUIDE TO ANY AND EVERY MD PRACTICING ANY SPECIALTY, I FEEL WE ALL COULD USE THE REVIEW. Appropriate for all challenging with emergencies in cardiology.The book is very educational with many images and quick reference topics so that you can easily and quickly find the subject you are looking for. Undoubtly a very nice book.
