Book Reviews of Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye (Psychic Eye Mysteries, Book 1)

Book Review: An exellent read!
Summary: 5 Stars

When Abigail Cooper tells a client to stay away from a dark haired man, she never realized that it would send a serial killer after her. Abigail Cooper, or Abby, as she likes to be called, is your everyday woman. She lives a life like French Vanilla ice cream, plain with a little extra flavor. Her job as a professional psychic pays enough for her to pay the bills. Abby enters an online dating course and meets her boyfriend, Dutch, who she tells about her psychic abilities on their first date by telling him what really happened to a supposedly kidnaped little boy named Nathaniel Davies. It turns out that Dutch is a police detective, which is just what Abby needed because a few days later, one of her clients is murdered. Abby picks up a lot of clues about the murder, including how the murderer got into the house to murder the client's sister, who was allegedly suicidal. Abby and Dutch finally solve the case, ending in a close scrape with Abby when the serial killer comes to murder her. This book is excellent and includes a lot of detail.

This book includes a lot of detail. When Abby was trying to figure out how different people were feeling from a distance away, the author described the feeling of sadness in one person as so overcoming that Abby was having trouble breathing. When Abby and Dutch visit the murder scene of her client Allison, she describes the way the house looked torn apart, and tells about the rust-colored hand prints on the wall from when Allison was struggling away from the murderer. When the murderer comes and attempts to kill Abby, there is a vivid description of how she felt the knife he was holding hit bone in her arm, and how the pain she was feeling was making her feel delirious.

This book is an example of how adults are not always right. Marco, Allison's sister's fiancé, was who both Abby and Duke accused of murdering Allison because he had dinner with her the night she died and came home extremely sad. They soon realize, though, that they are way off of who the real killer is. When Abby first met Duke, she told him that there is a badge surrounding him as if he was speeding or something. It turned out that Dutch is a policeman, and he wasn't speeding at all. When the killer visits Allison's house, he kills a young lady named Beth Ellen, who was planting flowers in Abby's yard instead of killing Abby.

The people in this book can be very smart. For instance, when the serial killer breaks into Abby's office, he dosen't steal anything or give any acknowledgement to the fact that he was there, and he just looked at the names in her appointment book. When Alison was being murdered, she was smart enough to hide the tape that Abby recorded of her reading in her underwear so that the killer would not find it. When Dutch came to interrogate Abby on how she knew so much about the Nathaniel Davies case, she told him all that she knew, knowing that he had no proof of her being involved in the case.

This book's ending is very surprising, and it is very hard to guess beforehand who the killer is. This book is very good to read just about anywhere you want to, and you will always feel included in the story.

Summary of Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye (Psychic Eye Mysteries, Book 1)

Abby Cooper is a P.I., psychic intuitive. But her insight failed her when she didn't foresee the death of one of her clients-or that the lead investigator for the case is the gorgeous blind date she just met. Now, with the police suspicious of her abilities and a killer on the loose, Abby's future looks more uncertain than ever.
