Book Review: At last, some sense

I should have bought this book two years ago when I started using Photoshop. I figured the help file plus hints and tips on the web would be sufficient to use this very complex piece of software. Well, suffice to say that they aren't.
This straightforward, well worded course finally and clearly explained the basics and concepts to me. It all starts to make sense now.

I got this book to try to help 12-14 year old students learn Photoshop and unfortunately it's just too boring. The project examples are ugly. Technical skill in Photoshop is one thing but it's worthless unless you create something attractive. Unfortunately the sample projects in here are far too uninspiring. Students see them and think, who wants to learn how to make that?Book Review: Great introductory book!

I'm a novice to Photoshop. This book has proven to provide me with all the core details on how to get up and running quickly. A friend has learned all the Adobe products using Classroom in a Book and I agree that you can get a great introduction to the product just by using this book. Even PS users who've managed to become proficient on their own will most likely benefit from the tutorials in all of the Adobe "Classroom in a Book" series. Beginners definitely will learn faster and make fewer mistakes along the way. Well worth the investment in time and money. Do try to get the CIB for the correct version even though earlier copies will help.Book Review: Classroom in a Book

Anyone learning photoshop for the first time, or upgrading to CS3, should get this book and read it through. Even if you are proficient in previous versions, this book opens up new concepts and introduces the reader to new tools, not available in previous versions of Adobe Photoshop. This book will truly increase productivity and improve quality.
