Book Reviews of Advanced Marathoning - 2nd EditionBook Review: The secret to getting more from... well, not less really. Summary: 5 Stars
I love this book. Having floundered around for years trying to finally be able to run a sub-3 marathon, this book enabled me to focus my training, understand exactly what I was doing and, in the end, got me over the finish-line in 2.57.
In fact, the training programme (18 week, 60 miles or less per week) got me into such good shape, I ran a 100km only 21 days after the marathon and finished in less than ten hours.
Book Review: Great running handbook Summary: 5 Stars
I first found this gem in my local library. After checking out the book numerous times and paying untold late fines, I realized that this was one of those books you just have to own. I have pulled it out each time I've started ramping up for a race. It is about as comprehensive a book on running distance as I've seen and would wholeheartedly recommend it.
Book Review: Simply the best marathon training guide. Summary: 5 Stars
Excellent content, with thorough coverage of the how's and why's of marathon training. I've read ~10 books on running, with this being the one I keep coming back to for training plans, workouts and the general reinforcement of proper preparation. Highly recommend.
Book Review: One of the best books on preparation for running marathon Summary: 5 Stars
This book really did provide me the guidance that I was looking for. Following the guidance from this book I broke 3 hours in my 49th marathon for the first time being 46 years old. Thank you.
