A brilliant sequel to "When Worlds Collide this 1965 paperback edition of the old classic brings back a lot of memories. Survivor's of our planet Earth destroyed by a collision with the Uranus sized, gas giant "Bronson Alpha" reach "Bronson Beta" an earthlike planet which revolved around the gigantic "Alpha" and the collision with earth set "Beta" free from "Alpha's" orbit and "Beta" replaced the destroyed Earth in its orbit around our sun. The survivors reached "Beta" aboard an interplanetary version of Noah's Ark and after landing on the strange new world discovered that it once had a civilization when it orbited around its sun or star perhaps billions of years ago in a distant constellation. The survivors discover its abandoned cities and traces of an ancient far developed civilization, which was millions of years ahead of ours.
Reading the sequel of the Balmer and Wylie classic will give the reader an idea of what could be found as man is able to reach and explore other earthlike planets in our universe.
