Book Review: Alanna
Summary: 3 Stars

YES! A book with rulers. No, not the rectangle shaped school supply that help you measure. The ruler lets to much freedom. Where area the peasants?! Anyways, a girl wouldn't be confident on disguising herself into a boy!! No one has done it at her time so I wouldn't be to sure if I were her. If I was the king, I would just order Alanna's execution because I'm not that stupid! I can tell if she's a boy or not by listening to the voice and maybe check the crotch...

Book Review: I love this book
Summary: 5 Stars

First, let me say that Tamora Pierce is a very talented writer. But, like all writers, she has made very good acomplishments in her career as an author, and has made very bad publishments where, let me say, the bomb is dropped!

But, luckily, this is not the case for Alanna: The First Adventure. This books just makes readers enter the world of Alanna, a young girl born into this world wanting to become a knight, something that no other woman has undertaken before. So Alanna trades places with her twin brother and pretends to be a boy to get accepted into the royal palace to begin her training. Little did the king and queen know that the violet-eyed "lad" would change the whole course of the future of Tortall!

This action packed book just makes you cheering for more and what Alanna will do next!! Whenever I'm bored with waiting for some book to come out, I always return back to the Alanna Series!! I love this book and the whole series!! I'm suggesting this book to everyone!

When the sweating fever hits,Alanna loses a friend when the prince comes down with it. Hovering between life and death Alanna decides to use her gift to heal him. When the squires go to Persopolis in the desert, the prince asked if Alanna can go and one night they ride to the Black City.

Book Review: Loved it... Could be more descriptive...
Summary: 5 Stars

I listened to Alanna: the First Adventure via my subscription with Audible, and I found this story to be pleasantly entertaining (if at a few times) simplistic.

Alanna is a young girl with red hair and violet eyes. When her father dictates she must enter a convent, she trades places with her brother Thom who is to become a page and eventually a knight.

I read the Alanna series as a teenager and was fascinated by her adventures. Now as an adult some of this story seems a tad predictable. Pierce's writing lacks detail and some of her characters (such as the prince, George etc.) are rather cliché for the fantasy genre. Still, this is a great series of books that young girls and adults will enjoy... I only wish that Pierce had fleshed out her characters a bit more. Although I liked the characters I never got the sense that they were anything other than stereotypes.

Book Review: Good
Summary: 5 Stars

Alanna: The First Adventure is a good book, and it was quite entertaining. It's about this young girl, whose name is Alanna. She has a twin that is a boy, and his name is Thom. Alanna has to be sent to a school where they teach magic, which she despises. The young girl wants to be taught to become a knight, just like her brother gets to do, and it's vice versa for Thom. He wants to learn magic instead, so Alanna comes up with a plan to switch. Thom gets to go to magic school, and Alanna, well, she gets to be taught to become a knight.

Disguised as a boy, of course.
