Book Reviews of All Cats Have Asperger SyndromeBook Review: brilliant way to start the discussion Summary: 5 Stars
Cute, well-done book that is a great springboard to talk about Aspergers with kids (especially one who is going through a bit of a cat obsession!). My son was so excited he took it to school with him, his teacher loved it and started sharing it with other teachers, so it turned out to be a great way to get them thinking about it as well.
The book includes a few negatives but is otherwise overall very positive and that perspective is appreciated when so many other books on the subject can be depressing and even condescending.
Book Review: Amazing Book! Summary: 5 Stars
I am truly saddened to see some of these negative reviews here for a book that is so highly treasured in my house. I purchased it for my six year old son with Asperger's Syndrome and he simply adores it. I think it serves as a very helpful tool in explaining to a young child what the symptoms of Asperger's are and help them to recognize their own behaviors. We also have "Of Mice and Aliens" and nobody does it better than Kathy Hoopman. She is the perfect voice of reason in helping Aspie kids understand and cope with their situation.
Book Review: questions answered! Summary: 5 Stars
This is an excellant book. We have a 36 yr. old daughter who wasn't diagnosed until she was close to adulthood. All educators and clinicians would say "she's a puzzle". She graduated from college Magna Cum Laudi and her first supervisor on her job suggested she had "Asbergers". Recently a friend was preparing a will and asked me about our daughter and decided to make a pledge to Asbergers upon her death. I bought this book to send to her as a token of appreciation. I think it was a perfect gift. Dee Harris
Book Review: A must have if you are learning about Aspergers Summary: 5 Stars
This book offers captivating pictures of cats and kittens, protraying the behaviors of someone with Asperger Syndrome. If you have this disorder or know someone who does-this is a must read for you! There is no kinder, gentler way to describe the disorder. Children and adults alike will see themselves or a loved one with Aspergers in the pictures of the cats and clearly be able to identify with the simple text that describes the personality and quirks of an "Aspie." And if you just love cats-it's great as well!
Book Review: A Wonderful Book for Explaining Aspergers Summary: 5 Stars
All Cats have Asperger's Syndrome is a fantastic book for helping your child understand Aspergers. It's also a great read for a public school or church class that is trying to understand a student with AS. My 9 yo Aspie grandson read it to his Sunday School class, and all of the kids were much more open and caring towards him once they understood what he was dealing with and why he sometimes behaves the way he does. I highly recommend this book!
