Book Reviews of American Prince: A MemoirBook Review: Enough already Summary: 1 Stars
He's really good looking, Jewish, had a miserable childhood, and felt compelled to bed every good looking woman he met. Over and over and over and over. Every single chapter.....
His children all dislike him, but that's not his fault. He keeps marrying really attractive women, but that's not his fault. He was addicted to cocaine, but that certainly wasn't his fault. He doesn't take any responsibility for any of his failings, but seems to want us to like him. After reading this, I can't find much to like about him.
Book Review: American Prince, A Memoir, by Tony Curtis Summary: 5 Stars
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Tony Curtis's book, "American Prince, A Memoir." Reading about his difficult early years and then what went on behind the scenes in Hollywood, was fascinating. He's certainly had a wild life. I've loved Tony's movies over the years. I hope someday the Academy Awards will give him the recognition he deserves for his acting. He's now in his mid-eighties and was hospitalized recently. Based on his book, he seems like a tough guy who will never give up. I wish him well.
Book Review: American Prince Summary: 1 Stars
This book helped me to understand the ego driven Mr. Curtis. He was constantly building himself up and putting others down. I did not learn anything about who this talented actor really is. It's obvious he has not come to terms with his unfortunate childhood. I was disappointed that he did not share more experiences with the renown actors and actresses he worked with but instead either demeaned or dismissed them.
A very disappointing book.
Book Review: Sometimes a Prince Sometimes a Toad Summary: 4 Stars
This is a brutally honest look into of the life of Tony Curtis. To his unhappy childhood to struggling to becoming one of Hollywood golden men. I'm a huge fan and my fave movies are: Taras Bulbua and Spartacus. Also to being a notorious cheater and not being the best father. I enjoyed his memoirs of Marilyn Monroe as well his brother Jules. I really enjoyed this book. I think Tony Curtis fans will enjoyed as well.
Book Review: A Very Entertaining Read! Summary: 5 Stars
This book is a very entertaining read. I have 20 pages left to go on this book, and got on to my computer keyboard to tell readers everywhere to buy this book. This is the most enjoyable celebrity autobiography I read in years. Tony Curtis tells it all in spades about Hollywood, his films, the leading ladies he has bedded, his marriages, etc. GO GET YOURSELF A COPY OF THIS BOOK - IT'S FUN.
