Book Reviews of Anastasia (The Ringing Cedars, Book 1)Book Review: Our Steady Drift Into Freedom Summary: 5 Stars
By urging us to live green in harmony with nature, each other, the elementals, cetaceans, and space people the Ringing Cedars series have majestically stirred the devout curiosity in Russia, Europe and now in the English speaking countries.
The USA and the world are learning a lesson this time from some of the humble people of Russia who with their vegetable and fruit gardens produce more than 54 percent of Russia's total agricultural output.
This first book of Anastasia, a spiritual hermit who lives in the woods of the Siberian Taiga, is an antidote to the desire to destroy all that is good so evidently present in governments and corporations. Yet if we want to be free and happy wise Anastasia urges us to reject the noisy polluted cities, the meat eating habit, and technology worshiping.
In the face of evil this Ringing Cedars books are proving to be a thrust for a peaceful revolution, and this trend, in my opinion, could not be stopped since humans are moving ahead free from fear, antagonism, and the illusion of separation.
Through a better understanding of the Oneness we all have with Flora, Fauna and other members of the Galaxy the Anastasia books are setting in motion a positive trend into a more harmonious fifth dimension reality: or the ascension.
I recommend the whole series of nine books to everyone.
Book Review: not worth it ... Summary: 2 Stars
I was all excited about this book, and, like another reader, I almost purchased the entire set at one time, - fortunately I did not. Usually I'm very forgiving when I critique a book, and I'm as gullible as the next person. Also, I'm on that same universal quest as others, seeking answers about myself in relation to this floating island we all live on, while trying to wade through all the lies and misinformation we're expected to believe.
This book offers nothing. If it's supposed to be like Russian Fairy tale, it's not. I love to read about Russia which is the only reason I was able to give Anastasia two stars.
It appears the Russians are in need a crutch and something to believe in. So now they have it (her), a mystical blonde woman, who lives out in the deep forest with all the answers to MAN'S problems. Although she may lack judgment regarding sex, and she's ostensibly subject to base human emotions; she has no qualms about handing out ideas regarding how the rest of us should live. I see it all now, Anastasia, Cedar Products, http://www.ringingcedarsofrussia.org/Main/English/ and Multi-level marketing. Alternate book title: "Gidget In The Taiga"
Forgive my cynicism.
I liked the translator's notes, probably my favorite part of the book.
Book Review: Hypnotic writing at its best! Summary: 2 Stars
The author employs the use of hypnotic writing (NLP) to project his own beliefs and level of learning onto the reader. A return to sustainable living cannot be a bad thing but I dismay that the intelligent reader gets so readily sucked into welcoming his archetype - Anatasia, a so called purely enlightened being who commits adultery with a physically ill, cigarette smelly, self absorbed male who bites her breast when he gets scared... to create the perfect children and to give great wealth and fame to the author. She states that her embedded image everywhere will stimulate a more creative output in readers.
It's like reading the story of one of the uses of the Tantra, a forbidden path as taught in the Vedas and I'm reminded of certain tv evangelicals who employ similiar methods for fame and wealth.
Authentic medicine people all over the world do not manipulate people and they shy away from fame when teaching the siddhes and spiritual truths. Quite the opposite of this author and his archetype.
At the end of the day, if anything of real value comes from reading these books, it lies in the inherent goodness of people who really do want to connect with the Divine and get back to basics.
For myself, I'd rather learn from real mccoys.
Book Review: the books are good Summary: 5 Stars
I'm finishing my last book and already ordered the 10th one.
People are crazy :) they concentrate so much on whether Anastasia exists or not and miss the main points in the books. I don't think it's relevant whether Anastasia exists, although I do believe she does.
The books truly give you a sense of love and world understanding. Many people here have written negative reviews about the book just because they don't believe a person in the wilderness can have her own animals, like we have cats or dogs. These people concentrate on the most insignificant stuff....oh, this and this is impossible. Well, who cares. The main point of the books is that you have to grow your own garden, you have to start caring for the environment more, you should be in the co-existence with the planet, etc. And those are the points that no one can dispute. These book make you get it and also help you get back on track in life....And they sure are very successful...many people in Russia and across Europe and even US have built their own eco villages and are moving towards sustainable living! Even Medvedev has addressed this question about land.
These books are not a waste of time :)but everyone has to read what's interesting to them, good luck.
Book Review: A nice, inspiring book Summary: 4 Stars
So if it's gardening advice you're looking for, this really is not the book for you, there are literally hundreds, probably thousands, of really good books on the subject, so go buy one of those. Anastasia does have some interesting advice on gardening, or the individual's relationship to plants and nature in general, but the last thing Megre was trying to do here was to provide gardening instruction, though he has inspired me to try building my own beehive, and likely get stung into oblivion trying to harvest honeycomb, but we'll see.
Anastasia is a beautiful book. Whether this actually is nonfiction or not seems irrelevant, as the words contained within are deeply philosophical and often practical. I got this at a local bookstore, not from Amazon, and the d-bag clerk made some little comment which led me to think this would be some mindlessly esoteric "The Secret" kind of crap. I can see how a not so thoughtful person could write this off in such a way, but to do so is a mistake. Do yourself a favor and check out this book, if you're very open minded then you'll love it, if not, then maybe you'll open up a little. This is one of the very few books which I can honestly say I will read again.
