Book Review: The Kindle Edition Only

My girlfriend has this book in hardback and I wanted to get my own copy. Keep in mind that this review is for the Kindle Edition of the the book only, and also I'm a HUGE fan of the Kindle. My problem is with the conversion of this book to the Kindle and it's pricing. First of all, this is a disturbing trend if the prices of electronic versions start becoming more than hardcopy. You can't tell me that it costs the publisher MORE to publish something electronically. They are simply bumping their profit margins. This publisher seems to be greedy. Additionally the index is worthless. It's simply a collection of terms found in the book. No page number reference, of course because the Kindle doesn't use that. So I would expect a hyperlink or location number, but no, NOTHING. The big thing that irked me was the hard copy of the book has a color, multi-page insert with some useful charts, graphs and reference data. It's completely left out of this Kindle version. Now if someone can tell me where it's at, I'll gladly change this evaluation. That was a cool feature in the hardcopy, and I don't think it's fair that they leave something like that out of the electronic version without clear warning. I can't recommend the Kindle version of this book, and that's the first time I've ever said that about any book because I think the Kindle is awesome. My recommendation is to skip the Kindle and just buy hardcopy, and if Amazon is smart, they will nip these sort of greedy, sloppy publishers in the bud, otherwise the Kindle will start to get a bad rap.
