Book Reviews of Anticancer: A New Way of Life

Book Review: a must read for newly diagnosed cancer patients
Summary: 5 Stars

The author, in a you tube video, says he wished he'd had this book when he was first diagnosed with cancer and I feel the same. I was so happy to find a book that gave me great information which has helped me make changes to my diet, my activity level and the way I handle stress; which all contribute to help my body fight cancer. I brought the book to my last oncology appointment and my doctor plans to read it after he and I talked at length about the information. I felt that I didn't know the questions to ask until I'd read this and it also prompted some good discussions with my friends and family who are all making healthy changes.
I appreciate the easy to understand information. This book is not a sales pitch for nutritional supplements or seminars. It is a book that will give you the information to help you make good decisions and gain some feeling of control about your health and well being.

Book Review: Good for the daughter!
Summary: 5 Stars

One of my co-workers, who has been battling prostate cancer, recommended this book to me after my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer, too.

I read through the first third of the book in the first couple of nights before passing it along to my dad. The research was fascinating, and, I appreciated the approach the author took. The author comes at it from several different angles of research, making you feel that achieving a cancer-free, healthful life is a very attainable process. For me it all made sense, and gave me a couple of "Aha!" moments. The book seems to give things "ala carte", so you can opt to make any/all changes you feel would make sense for you. It's not an all-or-nothing deal. But, the more you do, the better you feel about it. Now, I just have to re-purchase the book so I can have my own copy... to finish, and for reference. This book is changing my life for the better, too.

Book Review: This Book is For Everyone

The author of this book is fully committed to the belief that cancer can be cured or avoided entirely and shares his personal experience and advice on this subject. Although written as a cancer prevention book, this book has value for everyone. The author's suggestions are life-affirming and life enriching.

For those dealing with cancer, Anticancer lays out an eating plan that will improve the way you feel and aid your body in healing, provides a new way of looking at life and your condition, and proposes exercises that will support your healing process.

If you are dealing with cancer, please consider reading this book. It will help you to understand how much control you have over the course of your treatment and can help to promote your healing by providing you with a blueprint for doing just that.

This is a wonderful book and highly recommended.

Book Review: One of the most important books you can read
Summary: 5 Stars

I enjoy reading about health and nutrition, and I have slogged through a lot of scientific writing-- so I completely appreciate the superb job that Dr. Servan-Schreiber has done with this book. What struck me was the HEART that he shows in the writing. He clearly cares about this subject and about the people he can help with his message. I have never read a nutrition/health book before that moved me to tears multiple times. I think this person has written one of the most important books of our time, right alongside The China Study by Dr. Campbell. The implications of the recommendations he makes can ultimately affect our food industry, our public health policy, and our politics-- if we take action. (After you read this, watch the movie "Food, Inc." if you have not already seen it.) Dr. Servan-Schreiber, THANK YOU for the gift of your effort and caring in making this book come to life.

Book Review: misquote

Stephen J Gould DID die of abdominal mesothelioma 20 years later and not of another disease. Such a glaring mistake would cause me to be skeptical of other information in this book. The abdominal mesothelioma was removed and some malignant mesothelioma cells were left behind.Over the 20 yrs ,post excision these cells migrated into the lungs and a walnut sized tumor developed in the lung growing undetected during this time The malpractice case is in the courts,on behalf of Steven J Gould brought by his wife and has yet to be decided.I have prostate cancer and regardless of where the metastasis is located, being the bone or soft tissue,it is still regarded as prostate cancer and that goes for any cancer including mesothelioma.Gould's cancer is still mesothelioma even though it was located in the lung and other soft tissues. The question is why did it remain undetected for so long a period?
