I am a "survivor" of a chronic leukemia. I read Dr. Sevarin-Schreiber's book, and I am now also a "believer". His search for a more healthful lifestyle makes sense - by looking at cultures with low cancer rates, we are introduced to concepts of healthful eating, ridding ourselves of stress, and learning how to live a more healthy life. I am using his suggestions, especially with changing my diet, using tumeric, cumin, and other spices and herbs conducive to healthy eating, and by trying to rid myself of unwanted anxiety and stress. I do firmly believe that lifestyle can assist those already diagnosed with cancers and can certainly benefit others who have no such diagnoses but want to ward off cancer in their futures.Book Review: Anti Cancer - a new way of life

I bought and paid for 2 of these books - one to give to a friend. This was around 31 May 2009. Today is 2 July and I still haven't received them. It is very disappointing and I am quite angry about it because the shipping was very expensive and altogether, it cost me some NZD$100 which is a lot of money.
The rate this item is for the book - NOT THE SELLER!!! My sister has this book, so I am rating it based on what little I have read.
What are my rights in this instance? If this is how it's like and it's my first time buying anything from Amazon, then I won't bother buying again. I am really PISSED OFF. If someone from Amazon could get back to me, I would be grateful.
Book Review: Give this book to everyone you know!

Since I picked up this book I can't stop thinking about how many people in my life need to read it. My list just keeps growing! It breaks everything down about the disease so you really understand what's going on, and it has such great, practical advice. He's been through it himself, and his story is just amazing.
Cancer is really scary, but reading Dr. Servan-Schreiber's story and reading about the research, you get a sense that you're not helpless, and you want to share that with everyone you know. And even though I'm not into charts and graphs, seeing how thorough he has been and how much he relies on medical and scientific data for his advice - it's clear that this guy is for real.
Book Review: Wonderful Book!

I do have metastatic breast cancer (stage IV) with mets to my liver. I was only in remission for 8 months and now it's back. This book has helped me tremendously. I have radically changed my diet, exercise program and have gained an inner peace with myself. Dr. Servan-Schreiber has so eloquently written how to think about death, dying and reflection. He also writes in a scientific way how food plays a major role in recovery and is easy to comprehend.
This book is for everyone not just those of us who have cancer. I'm sure this will be one of those books I keep on my nightstand to pick up and read excerpts when I need information or reassurance.
Book Review: Eye opening book

I haven't written a book review before, but I felt compelled to write this one. This book is a combination of science, advice and the writer's personal experience with his own cancer. It is very convincing and has motivated me to make substantial changes in the way I eat. The writer talks about how most doctors focus on medicine and not food but emphasizes that you should use diet in combination with conventional medicine. Like most people, I have read articles here and there about green tea and other foods, but this book really helps the reader understand how the body works, how cancers form and how foods impact this. I can't recommend this book highly enough.
