Book Review: Key to Understanding your Soul's Potential and Mission for this lifetime
Summary: 5 Stars
Belongs in your Astrology book collection! Jan Spiller does a excellent job at describing, in-depth, the drives and characteristics associated with our north nodes. I would describe our north node as our life purpose, and soul's potential, whereas the south node is our soul's pattern, patterns that we are use to, that are familiar to us, that can help or hinder us in this lifetime. Jan focuses, not so much on the past issues of south node, but on the potential of our north node. It is astonishing when you read about yourself and the people in your life, your boss, your best friend, your husband. It sheds light on their shadow self, and on the side of them that is yearning to be free from the past to reach full potential. It helped me to be more compassionate with people that I once could not understand, or that were downright maddening. Now, I use the knowledge of their north node to encourage their soul's potential, (as well as my own). While it does touch on house placements, it is concise and accurate and very useful in promoting understanding and compassion.Book Review: WOW.

A friend recommended this book to kind of introduce me to astrology. All I can say is WOW. It is so dead on accurate it is scary. It's like she climbed into my mind and wrote down my personality, and how I react to situations and what I need ect... It is very interesting to read about yourself, but also read about others. For a couple of people in my life, the accuracy of their personalities was so accurate and eye opening it was alarming for them. One person who has a lot of negative things in her life and never gets what she wants read her section and really didn't want to hear it. Because the areas she needed to work on were TRUE and she didn't really want to admit it, or hear it. I would recommend this book for anyone who is OPEN to hearing these things and understands that maybe some of it might not be accurate, but for the most part (in my experience) it was creepy how much of it IS. It really does give insight to not only yourself, but others as well.Book Review: Some Strange Ideas on the Nodes...

There are some strange ideas on the Nodes floating about out there in the cyber-world, but Jan's theories are well founded in the fundamental principals of Western astrology. Her understanding of the Nodes is excellent, however, some of the more fundamentalist Vedic Indian ideas are so claustophobic and disempowering, that they engender fear in fate and destiny. Be careful of these other literalist positions that deny your free will and pigeon-hole your fate.
As the author of a new book on the Nodes--"North Node Astrology; Rediscovering Your Life Direction and Soul Purpose" I give Jan a lot of credit for her work here. The rest of us stand on her shoulders and take what knowledge and wisdom we have picked up along the way, and add to what she has done. It's a growing exciting field, but let's stay on track with a wholesome understanding of the Nodes as an expression of compassion--and as holding the secret of the soul's journey. ~elizabeth spring
Book Review: An Extremely Valuable Book and a Big Influence of My Life

Jan Spiller's descriptions of the individual by nodal position are uncannily accurate. The book demonstrates beyond a doubt the extreme importance of the nodes in the birth chart. I found the section that applied to me remarkably on-target. I also find it extremely useful, and I have read it over many, many times and will probably continue to do so. It serves as a constant and ever-ready reminder to me of what I need to do to get and stay in touch with my inner energies, and what my in-grained psychological and behavioral pitfalls are that I must seek to overcome or transcend in this lifetime. Just take a look at the book in a bookstore and see if the section that applies to you seems on target. My guess is that it will and you will see how valuable this book is. I sought out Jan Spiller for a reading after reading the book and I think she is a phenomenal astrologer.Book Review: The Best North Node Book Ever!

I was reading one of the other comments from an astrologer of over 20 years. I disagree with her. She didn't read the introduction chapters of the book which stated to relate the house ruler and read that chapter. Jan Spiller has written a phenominal peice of work. I felt like I was reading a story about my life. Everyone I have turned this book on to has enjoyed it immensely. We need more Angels like Jan in this world, to help sort out some of the "old and set in there ways" Astrologers that are out there. The Universe is constantly changing and so is Astrology, to be set in your ways about the interpretation of the "way it used to be" is not leaving room to learn new perspective, which this book so boldly gives you. This is one of my top ten favorite books. Her other book Spiritual Astrology is just as great, read that one too. Peace...
