Book Reviews of Astrology for the Soul (Bantam Classics)Book Review: The Universe Knows You - and here's some evidence. Summary: 4 Stars
If you believe that life is a roadmap to discovery - and you are interested in a more detailed map, you might find Jan Spiller's book of interest. As in many complex issues, there are no hard and fast answers on how to lead your life - but the descriptions of those in your "node" will likely resonate with you, and bring some perspective, which always does wonders. I find some of the affirmations a bit hokey - but the goal and result seems to be heightened compassion - for yourself, and for those around you. We may think it is impossible to categorize and generalize people into astrological signs, and in this book "nodes" - but surprise, surprise - for those you know well - the descriptions seem tailor made, for those you don't - a "what-if its true" scenario - that only broadens awareness and again compassion for how each human tries to cope.
Book Review: It is incomplete. I have been an astrologer over 20-yrs. Summary: 1 Stars
A client of mine sent me this book, and while the writing is good, the text is incomplete. For example, I have a North Node Virgo, in my 9th house, conjunct my Midheaven, so naturally I would comment. Jan does not talk about the South Node, and you can't have the North Node without it, nor does she talk about which house applies, and everyone has their nodes in a different house. Also, the "soul" according to Rex Bills rulership book is ruled by Pluto and the 8th house. Jeff Green can attest to that. Years ago, Martin Schulman wrote THE MOON'S NODES AND REINCARNATION and explained it all in a 127- page skinny book that tells it like it is. I am reading all these wonderful things about the author, but am not convinced that she truly knows what she is talking about. I've been an astrologer for over 20-yrs. Carole Hemingway
Book Review: Such A Wonderful Book! Summary: 5 Stars
I have had this book for a few years now and recently purchased a second copy because it was becoming worn out. I am a Numerologist. I use 'Astrology For the Soul' to help zero in on major challenges a client faces once they are born. This book helps confirm what I find in the numerology chart.
Nodal information, when properly analyzed is highly revealing about what the person brings into the life, and what he or she needs to do to make positive adjustments towards living a more rewarding lifestyle.
Jan Spiller is excellent at what she does. I would not be without this book! You will not be disappointed. If you want to understand yourself, family members, friends, or lovers; get a copy right away!
Book Review: This is the "guts" of spiritual astrology Summary: 5 Stars
This is my all-time favorite astrology book about my favorite piece of the chart: the Moon's Nodes, which have to do with karma and past lives, and indicate your most karmically appropriate direction in this lifetime. This book is enlightening on many levels and gives you a unique perspective on your soul's pattern that really helps everything make sense.Best of all, you don't even need to know how to read charts to understand this book. All the North Node placements are in a table in the front of the book. And if you do read charts, you can look up the Node's house placement by house as well as by sign, for more information. This gives you an idea of the soul's direction in the chart, and which energies benefit the person on this level.
Book Review: an exceptional book on one's life destiny Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this book as one of my first astrology texts and loved it then, but did not realize what a wealth of information was truly in the book. Based on where the nodes are, Jan Spiller tells you what you need to move towards to fulfill your life's destiny and the tendencies that you need to leave behind that are from former lives, that which we feel comfortable with from the past. Since becoming more involved in astrology, I have found myself going back to this book several times to remind myself of what I need to learn as well as to understand others who have come into my life. It also describes the attitudes one has regarding relationships, work, etc. An invaluable source of information for both the beginner as well as the advanced.
