In the current economic times canning is making an incredible comeback. This book is the BEST I've seen & the BEST I have in my kitchen's library. It takes one through the steps of successful canning no matter your ability. I've put up fruits & veggies for a few years and was most happy to have this book arrive with the amazing selection of recipes!! Don't let one bit of you garden go to waste - this book gives you all the selections you need at your fingertips.
Book Review: Preserving food does not mean only Preserves Summary: 2 Stars
Having loaned out my Ball Book, I opted to try for this one...bad mistake. If you are interested in mostly creating preserves, as in a fruit spread like jelly, jam, conserves this would be acceptable. I wanted to refresh my memory on foods for pressure canning and the length of time to process vegetables, soups, et al,
however I strongly suggest you purchase a Ball Cookbook. If you need to purchase a used one, I would recommend you do so.
Book Review: Very Informational and helpful in every way Summary: 5 Stars
This book is full of recipes, as well as helpful tips. There is also a part which will helps with conversions such as how many pounds equals about how many cups, just so you know how much to get when the recipe calls for 3 or 4 cups chopped and you are trying to figure out how many Tomatoes that is.
Also, you name it, you can probably find a recipe for it. It has a bit of everything, between fruits, veg., and pressure canning meats.
Book Review: Best, Most Exciting Canning Book Ever Summary: 5 Stars
This was the most comprehensive book and is good for beginners (such as myself) as well as people that have been canning for decades (such as my Mother). Over the course of a week we canned over 500 jars of anything from basic jams and jellies to our favorite Cranberry Conserve!!! There are splats and splatters of our products all over the pages and it helped to motivate and will be my first reach for canning until the end of time.

If I could have added another star or 2, I would have done so. The recipes tried so far have been awesome! Since we are novices at canning, this book provided all the information, guidelines we needed. Helpful hints & tips are provided through out. The recipes range from traditional to contemporary, from pickles to jellies so that all will be satisfied
I am looking forward to canning for my pantry as well as gift giving.
