Book Review: The Author's Conspiracy Dogs Just Don't Hunt

Even if the reader is inclined to give the author's past association with the Lyndon LaRouche Foundation the benefit of the doubt (as I am inclined to do), this book still does not meet either the "smell" or the "laugh" test. There are several reasons why I think it fails to accomplish its goal of pinning the "conspiracy donkey's tail" on "St. Obama."
First and foremost, his theory about conspiracies within the U.S. political system need some serious updating. Not only is his tendency to attribute everything that moves to either a Bilderberger or Trilateral Group conspiracy, outdated, but also an over-determination and over complication of the existing international system generally, and the U.S. political system in particular. Why "posit" such a vicious nefarious animal when doing so is a complete and unnecessary complication? Everything supposedly done by them in secrecy can be done quite well openly with a cell phone, an email account and an offshore post office box by any group with the gall and cahones to do so? Witness the way the world has been ravished by the likes of drug traffickers, traffickers in humans and in human parts, and in nuclear materials -- just to name those at the top of the list. No political systems have yet been invented that are insulated against political corruption, and the U.S., once an innocent in this regard, now sits at the very epicenter of quiet legally enabled international corruption.
Where has this author been since the JFK assassination? Has he not been paying attention? He seems caught in his own home-spun time warp? The fact that powerful monied interests coalesce to defend their interests either legally or illegally is a fundamental characteristic of the existing system and therefore there is nothing inherently or necessarily undemocratic or sinister about them "backing" young bright up-and-coming talent like BHO to further their private economic and political interests. There is simply nothing that the Trilateral Commission or the Bilderberger Group can do that cannot be done, or that has not already been done today, openly and legally by Israel, Saudi Arabia and now China.
Second, if one provisionally gives the author the benefit of the doubt and buys into his Trilateral Commission nonsense (as I did), it still leads nowhere. He simply drives us around in his own self-made conspiracy parking lot taking as many left turns and random potshots at the caricature of BHO he has fashioned, as he can. And then we are right back at the same point in the circle we began in the first place -- all without the donkey's tail being pinned anywhere near "St. Obama."
The third reason is the very low quality of journalism this otherwise very bright and talented author and researcher has stooped to, only to securely nail St. Obama to the cross. It is such an unseemly failure that arguably it reveals more about the author than about his target. There is simply too much lazy, untrustworthy journalism here in this concocted storyline to sort out who BHO really is. And by untrustworthy journalism, I mean: too much "guilt by loose association," too much racist name-calling, too many ad hominem attacks, too little connecting of the dots with the all too few solid facts, too much bending and twisting of the few certifiable facts, too many misleading insinuations, too many quotes taken out of context, too much use of fly-by-night blogs, too many anachronistic attributions to 60-year old ex-terrorists, too much dishonest pandering to far-right ideological and political sentiments, too many extremely sloppy citations, etc. In short, the author has relied on too many guerilla tactics of the demagogue's trade. Tactics, which based on his earlier book, come as quite a surprise, at least to this reader.
Finally, Tarpley's conspiracy dogs do not hunt because his theory about race in America is as old fashion and as cynical as is his theory about the continued potency of 60-year old failed terrorists. Neither has any basis in a reality of the contemporary world. The centerpiece of the author's theory is that America is a dying nation and that in order to extend its life as long as possible, it must continue to be run by Fascist-leaning white supremacists. It is for this reason, according to the author, that BHO, a biracial Affirmative Action baby, has been recruited and "controlled" by one of the two competing Fascist-leaning white supremacist power centers in the U.S. As a black American, he has no independent power or "agency" beyond that "on loan" to him through his white overseers. It is a cynical and outmoded form of Tea Party-like negrophobia.
In a nutshell, the author's "contrived" story and fake concern about the U.S. turning into a Fascist nation in its dying days is essentially this: BHO is a "controlled" instrument of nefarious leftwing Fascist Wall Street interest that reaches back to the 1960s and runs through both the Trilateral Commission and the Bilderberger Group. BHO, is a bisexual dope experimenter, who was recruited while at Columbia by Zbigniew Brzezinski. From that point on his life has been pre-determined by the Fascist-leaning leftish "white supremacist over group" of Eastern monied Wall Street and intelligence interests. Since his Columbia days, BHO has operated only under their close supervision and always at the behest of their nefarious hidden economic interests.
He moved to Chicago and worked as a "community organizer" only to gain street credits to make it easier to launch a career as a politician. Yet for some inexplicable reason, he decided to involve himself with 60-year old failed ex-terrorists to launch his career in politics. These terrorists handlers, as the author so carefully points out, were failures when in their prime because they had never been "real terrorists" at all, but were in fact on the FBI/CIA payrolls, as well-connected and "sent" agents provocateurs. Their job in Tarpley's twisted political cosmos, was the same as that of Adolph Hitler or Charles Manson's: to sow the seeds of racial discord, using BHO, our first black President of the USA, as their primary tool. By dividing the nation on racial lines, it would be easier for BHO's leftwing white supremacist Fascist overseers to further loot what remained of the dying USA economy.
It is a cynical and racist scenario. However, the most cynical part of this hard to swallow scattershot narrative is what is purposefully missing. What is left out is so obvious that it exposes the very height of the author's disingenuousness. He conveniently leaves out (and thus leaves as an exercise for the reader to figure out) that the most likely threat of Fascism in the U.S. has always (and still) comes from the right, not from the left.
By purposefully omitting this central point from his analysis, the author gives himself permission to set up his own self-fashioned leftwing "straw man." But his disingenuousness is also an unnecessary complication, for there is no one under the sun who does not know, nor would ever believe that there is a Fascist threat in the U.S. from the left rather than from the right.
The only proof he offers that BHO was a willing tool of this cockamamie theory is "guilt by loose association" all the way down to Tarpley's own "Tea Party" like version of Negrophobia. Unlike in his biography of Bush, which was well enough thought out to leave a coherent, if not always an entirely believable, story, here Tarpley punts early and tries to cover his back side and lack of robust sources by kicking up a cloud of conspiracy dust. It does not work. This conspiracy dog just won't hunt. Two stars
Summary of Barack H. Obama: The Unauthorized Biography
Written by the author of the legendary 1992 expose of Bush the elder, this book works from a New Deal point of view. Obama is exposed as a foundation operative and agent of Wall Street finance capital, controlled by Zbigniew Brzezinski, George Soros, and Goldman Sachs. Obama's mother was an official of the Ford Foundation, the World Bank, and US AID. By all indications, Obama was identified for future political use by Brzezinski at Columbia in 1981-1983, during Obama's secret lost years. Obama has worked for the Gamaliel Foundation, the Joyce Foundation, the Woods Fund, and the Annenberg Foundation as a community organizer - a poverty pimp, a cynical opportunist who uses suffering people as a political commodity. The foundation strategy is divide and conquer, pitting blacks against whites against Hispanics against Asians, to prevent any challenge to Wall Street. Racist provocateurs like Wright and Pfleger, along with Weatherman terrorist bombers Ayers and Dohrn, Obama's best friends, are cast in this mold. Rezko, Auchi, and Al-Sammarae represent the cesspool of Chicago graft and corruption in which Obama cavorts. Schooled in Nietzsche and Fanon, Obama qualifies as a postmodern fascist. An Obama administration would strive for brutal economic sacrifice and austerity to finance Wall Street bailouts, and for imperialist confrontation with Russia and China.African-American & Black Books
