Book Review: Out of continuity - don't bother.

Alas, the comic was written before the conclusion to the reimagined series and the revelation of the final five. Aside from the coninuity glitches, the story fails to tell an interesting tale, sticking to the old Sci-Fi cliche of a boy and his robot friend ad nauseum. Evidence of the writers attempting to recreate the politcal and moral complexity of the series exists, but in a ham-fisted manner that only last-minute, cheap tie-ins can achieve.
Mediocrity aside, characters appear where they shouldn't, as the final five had yet to be revealed at the time of writing. The war is ended when the main character appeals to his childhood robot - now preposterously in charge of the Cylons in a move I understand to be some kind of fan service for followers of the comparatively hideous original series. The Pegasus is shown to have been built at the same time as the Galactica, which is a spectacular misunderstanding of the series' premise that the Galactica, with its outdated technology, was able to survive the Cylon attack.
With the release of Caprica, the origins of the Cylons will be substantially different, too. Avoid.
