Book Review: EXCELLENT BOOK

The Complete Tales by Beatrix Potter is an excellent book.
I purchased this book for my Grandaughers 3rd Birthday and she loves it. It's her favorite book to have read to her each night before bedtime. She has a book shelf and can pick any book to be read to her at night and always chooses this one. It's a little bigger and heavier than some but she still picks it up and puts it back by herself when they are done reading into a wonderful hard cover sleeve it comes with. I'm very happy with this hard covered book. There is a place inside the cover to write a message. I wrote a wonderful message inside the book to my grandaughter hoping someday she could share these wonderful stories in this book with someone special someday. That maybe they will enjoy them as much as she has. The Tale of Peter Rabbit is her favorite. I highly recommend this book.
Book Review: Gorgeous, heirloom-quality book!

Being an avid reader myself as a child, I thought it was so important to begin a collection of fantastic books for my baby. This was one of the first on my list, and I'm thrilled with the quality. The illustrations are stunning, as well as the weighty feel of each page and the nice, thick hardcover. Not highlighted in the description was the nifty hardback protective sheath that comes with the book--what a fabulous extra! I know it will be a book my daughter will treasure for many years to come and she will enjoy many bedtimes with this book. I especially liked that it was the complete tales, not just a few Beatrix Potter favorites--it was important to me that I get the "whole collection" of stories when buying a book like this. I'd recommend this book to anyone who values high-quality, heirloom books! You won't be disappointed.Book Review: Old favorites and new gems

This very affordable volume has all of the Potter titles including a few I had never seen before (some of them not published during the author's lifetime). The rabbit stories seem to get the attention when people speak of Potter's work. But for my money the mouse stories are the best: especially "The Tailor of Gloucester" and "The Tale of Johhny Town-Mouse." I hadn't remembered how much all of Beatrix Potter's tales seem to revolve around eating and being eaten. They are in that regard, as in others, an excellent reflection of th e real "lives" of the animals that she dresses and gives words to. The paintings are wonderfully reproduced here and, if the book is much too large and heavy for little hands, it is a very good size for setting on one's lap along with the child who wants a story.Book Review: Classic childrens literature

Beatrix Potter Complete Tales R/I
I ordered this book for my granddaughter's first birthday. It arrived sooner than promised, in perfect condition, complete with the gorgeous illustrations, by Potter,which graced the first printing. My conscious decision is to provide her with the basis of a fabulous library. To this end I have been purchasing the true classics of children's literature. This is just one of the books I have so far given her. Her mother, my daughter, is putting them aside until the child is old enough to handle them. By that time I hope to have supplied on the order of 50 beautiful classic hardbound books for her enjoyment.
A child who reads owns the world.

Our daughter loves illustrated children's books and grew up on Peter Rabbit. When she had her 1st child this fall, we were trying to decide what to get for his 1st Christmas. We decided on this book. We were not disappointed. When our daughter opened it on Christmas for her baby, her comment was, "it is the perfect gift." We all enjoyed sitting and looking through the book with its beautiful illustrations and timeless stories. It is an incredible collection of Beatrix Potter's body of work for children. The stories are classics and it was a gift that our grandson will have for years to come and can pass on to his children and his children's children. I highly recommend this book for any new parent. Grandparents can't go wrong--it is a keepsake that will last for a long time.
