I bought this book for my small grandniece, as a birthday gift. She instantly recognized it as a treasure. She doesn't treat it like her other books. She sits quietly and carefully turns the pages, as if she knows she will want to have it for a long time. She keeps it separate from the others, and has become a complete Potter (NOT Harry) fan. This was an inspired purchase. I hoped that my childhood passion would translate to this generation, and it SO does.Book Review: Perfected Classic

I bought this item for my mother because she was such a fan of the Peter Rabbit stories. However, inside this book was every single story of Potter's that was published including ones that never had a chance to be published before her death. Along with this are the original paintings she created for each story. My mother absolutely loves this and now reads it to my baby sister any chance she can. The book is as beautiful in its slipcase as it appears in the description. My 9 year old daughter was given this as a present, and has been both savoring the stories herself (all about various animals, the first on Peter Rabbit is a classic) as well as reading them to younger siblings. Its sort of heavy for a small kid, and recommended as something special to be read on special occasions, not to sit down and read the whole book at once.Book Review: Faithful reproduction

When I was a child back in the 1940s, my dad bought several of MS Potter's books included in this complication. When I got them they were used, but in good condition. This book is very faithful in its quality of execution. It is a great read for children AND adults. It speaks of a much simpler time and teaches the values everyone needs to have. We use ours as a 'coffey table' book, and have has many positive comments from our friends.Book Review: Beautiful Purchase!

This was a great find for my grandchildren that we have temporary custody of. I love sitting in the rocking chair with my 2 1/2 - year old Sarah and cuddling up with these wonderful stories! This is a great quality book, and the illustrations are wonderful! It will get a lot of use, and look beautiful for years to come. Don't pass this one up. It's great for creating memories with your children and grandchildren.
