Book Review: Best comprehansive guide for the beginning beekeeper!

This book is fantastic. I just started last spring with one beehive. I have purchase five or six other books, but none have been as helpful as this one. It assumes that you don't know anything about beekeeping (that is me) and takes you through step by step and season by season. I have confidence that with the help of this book, I can keep my "girls" healthy and happy. I spoke to someone at our local beekeepers meeting who has been a beekeeper for almost 50 years. When I told him I was reading this book. He told me that it is one of the very best. I highly recommend this book for the beginning beekeeper.Book Review: An excellent book to begin your research

From a beginners standpoint this is an excellent book. Some critize the book for not giving more alternatives for doing some tasks. It is true that the author gives his viewpoint but I can say that is true of every book I have read on bee keeping. The book covers everything one would need to know to keep bees in the first year or two. I would not use it as a single source of information but I would say that about any like book. I have read it from cover to cover a couple of times and use it to compare notes with other written resources. I think this is a must have on the beginner bee keepers book shelf.Book Review: It's the best!

This is the best for those interested in backyard beekeeping. Written with humor and a great deal of information about bees and beekeeping. You can't go wrong here. It's a real gripper; couldn't put it down. If you weren't interested in beekeeping before, you will be after reading this book. Also, you will certainly get a better understanding of this most important pollinator. This book has everything you may need to know to give you a really good start with the most captivating hobby ever. to keep them.if you are a beginner. YOU must have this book if you need to
find something fast no problem its in here.everybody keeps bees different
even me iv'e been around beekeeping all my life heard alot of different
ways.but if you follow mr Howland's book YOU will have NO problems keeping
bees.even me i'll forget something and before i can remeber it i've found
it in his book.thanks mr Blackiston p.s. he has a good web site too.stan
Book Review: An Absolute Must Have Book for the Novice Beekeeper

This is a well written and illustrated book for anyone interested in learning about the basics of beekeeping -- from identifying the required equipment to disease and pest control. What is even more amazing - I sent the author a question via e-mail and he answered me the next day! There is also a great video available through his associated website that takes you through the first year's activites, i.e., you can watch a new hive being set up and the honey extract process. You will get your money's worth by purchasing this book!
