Book Reviews of Beekeeping for DummiesBook Review: Informative & easy to understand! Summary: 5 Stars
There is a lot of useful advice and information including tips that every "beginner" should know about beekeeping. Details including pictures; regarding bee diseases, equipment needed and proper procedures were all very helpful. I would recommend this book to anyone who is considering beekeeping as well as for those who are researching the apiary field.
Book Review: A Golden Start Summary: 5 Stars
A well-written practical book for the novice beekeeper and for those whishing to recheck their habits, good or bad. It is an easy book to read, the tips are practical, informed and work. I still have not yet found the courage to not use gloves! I would recommend this informative book to all who wish to enter the wonderful world of bee keeping.
Book Review: A Great Place To Start Summary: 5 Stars
This is an excellent resource for the aspiring beekeeper. No prior knowledge of the subject of beekeeping is necessary. This book is jam packed with great information, and does a great job of recommending other books if you are interested in learning about specific topics such as queen rearing, and observation hive building.
Book Review: Everything a beginner could ask for Summary: 5 Stars
Here's a logically organized, easy to read, but comprehensively factual introduction to beekeeping--written with a unique but inoffensive sense of humor. I suppose I should write another review year after first year's crop, but I have the feeling after reading this book I have all the information I need to get started.
Book Review: recommended reading Summary: 5 Stars
There is not a single "tell all" book for beginner beekeepers, however this is a must in the beginner library. My recommendations are
#1 Beekeeping for Dummies by Howland Blackiston
#2 Beekeeping-A Practical Guide by Richard Bonney
#3 Hive Management by Richard Bonney
in that order.
