Book Review: Hippos are huge!

All of Sandra Boynton's books are terrific and highly recommended. As far as the hippos being 'immodest' - come on where are you going to find clothes big enough for a hippo? I'm sure that when a child looks at pictures of a hippo (do they really wear clothes?!!!), that they are going to see more than a hippo who is half-dressed and being immodest. It's supposed to be funny - if that is what the parent sees - then maybe that is what the child will see. I think her books are wonderful, funny, and my 2 1/2 yo loves them, as well as my 10 mo old.Book Review: Enjoyable for kids AND adults

My 1 year old just got on a reading kick, and he absolutely adores this book. I think this has even surpassed Moo, Baa, La La La in terms of popularity for him. The fun thing about this book is that there are so many opportunities for improvisation--songs, the "bee bo", the "BELLY BUTTON BEACH"--that it makes every reading different than the last. So it's fun for the child and the reader as well. So far, I haven't had a let-down with any of Boynton's books...and the book itself is nice and durable, too. Definitely recommended for any parent.Book Review: Nice change of pace

Great book for your child's collection. After looking for cows, pigs, horses, sheep, frogs, etc. and the standard animals found in most books - this book is a refreshing change of pace for the adult. Just the right amount of rhyming words to hold the attention of a toddler. My 18 month old daughter loves it. She points out all the belly buttons on all the pages, and then on any stuffed animals or people nearby. If you don't mind being silly when you read to your children, this book is a must.Book Review: My baby loves this book!

The product information for this book says "ages 4-8." I would guess that kids that age would enjoy it, but it is definitely written for little kids to have read to them by parents, who will love it just as much. It's a board book, so the youngest in your family can chew on it to their heart's content. It's cute. It's funny. It contains puns adults will get without making the kids feel left out. It has a nice rhythm and rhyme. It's just generally a great deal of fun!!!!Book Review: Silly, cute and funny

We have 10 Sandra Boynton board books and this one is my favorite. It's just so silly and funny. The story really makes very little sense but it just doesn't need to.
My hubby is the bedtime book reader and this book has fun things like a song, a funny sign, and a little hippo who repeatedly says "bee-bo", so it has a lot of opportunities for fun voices.
If you have a sense of humor, you will surely like this Boynton book!
