Aboslutely, the best golf instruction I have ever experienced (I have a dad and older brother who are scratch golfers, who used to try to help me). I got this book about 25 years ago from a friend when I was about 25, first starting to play golf more than a couple of times a year. I thought "How ridiculous!", learning a sport from a book? Let me tell you now ... It is, by far, the best thing that ever happened to my full swing. If you have any ability at all, have a little time and focus, this book will help you to shoot in the 70s / low 80's, guaranteed! I've never heard of anyone who actually applied these lessons say anything but great things about this book.
The instruction is so confident and clear in its presentation, that, through implementing these lessons, you can actually feel what "real" golfers feel when they swing a golf club. The illustrations with the instructions are dead on... more clear and better defined than actually getting someone to "show" you how to do it, IMO ... Also, another side benefit is, knowing that your goal of golf in the 70's is actually within reach, it is very motivating, and will help you to stay committed to practicing these lessons...
Pay particular attention to the chapters on the grip and setup ... once you have these, the swing will come pretty naturally. You'll feel confidence when you set up to hit the ball, almost like with this setup, you can't hit a bad shot ...
I just recommended this to a friend, which reminded me, that I should also review this since I have not played much in the last few years, but recently have started playing more regularly ...
