Book Review: Questioning my own standards

The other 4 star reviews prompted my purchase of this very small book of horror shorts...Horror??? I was expecting the M R James type or at least Ramsey Campbell type of creepy tale,,no way ! These are just okay but far from worthy of any first class anthology,,,as for instance the Best of or Years Best,,you will not find any of these tales reprinted ever i would safely wager,,they are just so ordinary but then again much of the recent terror and horror genre are about this same level of expertise,,where have the former high standards of this popular tale gone...?? Bloch we miss you!
