Book Review: Life is a B****, then you die....

When you search Webster's dictionary for the "b***h", you should find the meaning "Precious Cummings".
Precious Cummings was the epitome of the word, from the "B" to the "H" and with every letter boldly capitalized. Ice runs in her blood. Destined to leave the grimy projects in Brooklyn, she manipulates and schemes, advancing her way out of the ghetto.
Unfortunately in her quest to seek and affirm her mother's love, her dear "mother" was the one who (not purposely, but by default) set Precious on this path.
She never knew who her father was. Her mom was a "busy" prostitute and in Precious' mind: every man was a trick, she was turned off to sex and determined to be a virgin.
Precious possessed eyes that had a strange and cautious effect on people, and she used this to her advantage to warn people not to invade her personal space. But her mother felt it was time for Precious to help support with the bills and her mother's drug habit.
Once Precious got her sex education and a grip on the game, there was no holding her back; she became an ace player. Precious only dealt with high profile hustlers and without her knowledge - she sealed a deal with the devil in the form of Nico Carter, a feared and infamous drug kingpin.
Using her hustling skills to mount to the top as Hood Queen, she was the ultimate b***h with ultimate natural beauty and street-tight brains - who played hard like a b***h, fought in the game like a b***h and in the end... died, crying like a b***h.
The story is a quick read, riveting with drama. Precious leaves behind a trail of blood and dead bodies. She's cold, calculating and out for self but... then she fumbles in the game and falls in a love with a multi-millionaire rapper, Supreme.
At times I was confused with the dialog of the story, but the plot of the story was entertaining.
