Book Review: Murder and suspense--exciting from beginning to end!

This book starts fast and keeps up the pace right to the end. I couldn't put it down! Catherine McLeod, an investigative reporter, takes her dog for a late night stroll and realizes she's being stalked. She evades the stalker and makes it safely to her home. She calls a friend who races to her rescue. As the friend enters her home, the stalker powers past him and violence erupts.
But this is only the beginning of a cat and mouse game between Catherine and her pursuer that involves the deaths of several people. Catherine believes the events are related to a story she's investigating about the 150 year old Sand Creek Massacre of Native Americans by US soldiers, peace treaties and reparations, and a proposal to build a new casino in Colorado.
But who is the stalker? And who is behind the threats to Catherine's life? Catherine goes on the run to continue her investigation and news stories. The police probe the continuing threats to her life. In the process, Catherine, who was adopted, begins to uncover her heritage as an Arapaho.
This is a well-constructed story from beginning to end. It keeps you involved and guessing. And its underlying story of the sad history of Native Americans in the US is one that should be told.
