Book Review: The Greatest book ever Penned - Seriously!
Summary: 5 Stars
When ppl discuss world literature, they normally select books like Moby-Dick, The Lord of The Rings or War and Peace as the Greatest. However, I would like to change their opinion, and elect this book as the Finest work of Literature ever penned. Let me persuade you.
First of all, this book is very simple - it is pictures (good ones) and text. You can give it to anyone who speaks English, and they will read it. Period. Unlike The Lord of the Rings, or Great Expectations, you don't need a few hours to read it to feel better about the world.
Second, this book is useful. Unlike War and Peace, or The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, this book is very practically applicable and can turn even the grouchiest philosopher into a happy puppy once more!
Third, it is life affirming. I gave this book to my cousin in hospital, and she said afterwards that it had inspired her will to live. Not many books can do that, especially when the person in question is less than 15 and hates reading...
Lastly, there is the wildlife within. I am someone who doesn't believe in Global warming but it is this book (and David Attenborough) that convince me that Man's butchery of our planet is wrong. Few can deny the love this book generates for animals and, as a great work; many more ppl would get this vibe.
So, there are four reasons for my argument. Maybe you don't agree with them, and think this soppy rubbish. You may want to stick to your 'great works' out of fear of Intellectual suicide. I love 'great works' as much as you do but, sometimes, what man really needs is happiness. Let us acclaim this book for its noble aim in freeing humanity from despair!
