Book Reviews of Blue Hat, Green Hat (Boynton on Board)Book Review: Boynton does it again! Summary: 5 Stars
My almost two-year old laughed and loved this book from the very first reading. He giggles at every "oops" every time, and is always saying "read again." An excellent book for helping children learn colors and articles of clothing, but most of all just a FUN book for parents to share with their kids. A great addition to our growing Boynton collection.
Book Review: 18 month old thinks this is hilarious! Summary: 5 Stars
This story hits my little guy's funny bone! He loves it. Especially the first two pages. He laughs so hard at the turkey that he turns bright red! He wants to wear his "hat" while we read it (he's got a yellow construction hat). Anyway, I'd recommend this book if your child's sense of humor is based in using things in funny ways (he loves our kitchen colander on my head).
Book Review: so cute! Summary: 5 Stars
very cute book! we love sandra boynton in our house. i don't know about you but i can't help but "sing" these books. i absolutely cannot just read them aloud. that all started with the barnyard dance book. just think "country twang" and you should be able to sing it. they'll get a kick out of it. now my 6 year old sings it to my 1 year old. she's just amazed at "big sis"
Book Review: Bad Boynton Book Summary: 1 Stars
I usually like Boynton books but I'm not a fan of this one. It's subject matter and writing is terrible. "Blue hat, green hat, oops." It's that same sentence repeated for about 6 pages, switching out hat for socks, pants and shoes. There is no story. There's nothing to teach my daughter from reading this book, nor anything that could spark creativity. It's just boring.
Book Review: Great for early readers Summary: 5 Stars
My 4 year old and 2 year old both love this book. The 4 year old is a beginning reader and has had this book memorized for years now. She is able to identify simple words as she recites the story. My two year old also has the book memorized and loves to pretend to read. Both of them call this story "oops" and laugh every time the turkey does something silly.
