Book Reviews of Bonobo: The Forgotten ApeBook Review: Extremely Enlightening! Summary: 5 Stars
Although I love learning about animals just because I love learning about animals - this book brings many important issues to the forefront - issues which directly relate to humans and human culture. For that reason, I highly recommend this book to anyone who has any curiosity about human behavior - especially as it pertains to sex. While Dr. de Waal is careful to avoid generalizations and anthropomorphisms, you will have fun drawing your own conclusions!
Book Review: Bonobo, you are not forgotten Summary: 5 Stars
This is a ground breaking book which forces humans to realize that not all of the great apes are violent as chimpanzees have been pigeonholed. It ultimately questions our humanness in relation to our 2 closest relatives: chimps & bonobos. Humans have characteristics of both, then why do many humans believe human nature is violent? This book gives us a mirror to see ourselves in.
Book Review: Our neighbors the Bonobos Summary: 4 Stars
This is a very beautiful book about the bonobo primates. I bought it for my 7 year-old grandson but his father thought we should wait two or three years before the boy saw the explicit photos of bonobo courtship and related practices. After looking more closely, I think he is right.
Book Review: purchase review Summary: 3 Stars
I purchased the book "Bonobo: The Forgotten Ape" for a gift, and received the item in good time and in good condition. I am unfamiliar with the book itself. I would purchase from the company again.
