Book Reviews of Boston's Gun Bible

Book Review: THE MOST VALUABLE BOOK IN MY LIBRARY
Summary: 5 Stars

I was so impressed with earlier incarnations of this book, that when the latest edition of Boston's Gun Bible came out, I immediately bought three copies from Boston himself.
Not only is BGB the definitive reference book/shopping guide on weapons/gear T&E. Besides being chock full of practical advice on weapons selection, it also contains dozens of rousing and fiery political tracts on the importance of the 2nd Amendment and how the RKBA is interconnected with our tradition of liberty. Boston makes convincing arguments that we are at the crucial crossroads at this point in our history and that only by successfully defending our 2nd Amendment Rights, will we have a chance at not only preserving the few rights that are left us. But that it will be the catalyst for taking back ALL the rights that have been stolen from us by an increasingly despotic goverment which rules by decree rather than by consent of the governed.
BGB is a must read for not only those interested in guns (though politically aware gunowners should buy a copy for every one of their 2nd Amendment fence straddling acquaintances) but it should be required reading for all concerned Americans who believe that ALL the liberties ennumerated in the Bill of Rights are our inviolable birthright.

Book Review: The #1 Rifleman's Book for Anyone Who Loves Freedom
Summary: 5 Stars

This book is nothing short of awesome! It's great stuff from beginning to end and you'll hardly notice it's somewhere around a thousand pages thick! Boston manages to cover all aspects of the battle rifle, basic defensive pistol use, battle carbines, and more.

Boston's huge amount of experience and field use of these weapons really shows through and the data and rankings of those rifles is spot on. He goes into a lot of things that many of those who are considered "gun nuts" miss and makes fun of one of my favorite kinds of person: the over-accessorizer; the guy who has a fine rifle and then fills it up with extra grips, a too-large scope, an integral bipod, laser pointer, interchangeable buttstock, etc., etc... Yet can't hit a fifty-cent grouping at 50 yards...

Boston also includes a lot of great political commentary and information. He gives (no doubt accurate) predictions of what the lobbyists and gun-grabbers will go for next and how they'll succeed first in the near future. He explains definitively why we need to be armed and TRAINED in those arms to effectively defend our nation, way of life, and especially our liberty.

By far one of the most informed patriots and easily one of our nation's most learned gun nuts, Boston is worth reading.

Book Review: Strong Philosophy, Weak Writing
Summary: 4 Stars

Spending time with Boston is a lot like listening to a cranky uncle who is sometimes arrogant, sometimes mistaken, always loud and often annoying. Yet, you listen to him because somewhere in all the ranting is something worth taking.

I was hoping that this book would help me sight in my rifle and learn the theoretical side to long range shooting. It failed in that area. I have to admit I couldn't follow Boston's explanations (maybe that is my fault).

What I like about the book are the summaries of gun CONTROL legislation, the summary of the way SWAT teams have developed in response to shoot-outs, and his overall concern for individual liberty.

Like my cranky uncle, Boston advises you to buy military style equipment while you still can. You can never have enough .308 ammo and battle rifles are the best weapon that civilians can own today (even though they are bulky and in some cases overpriced).

Overall, it was probably worth $20 but a true update of the whole book should be done before he slaps UPDATED on it. I wish I could offer better alternatives but there aren't many in this genre.

Book Review: its not just another gun book!
Summary: 5 Stars

I am a collector and have read & collected a lot of books, especially ones that are unavailable 'on the shelves' at regular retail stores. There is much more to learn from them than only the censored pablum available to the general public.
This must be due in part to political correctness of content & another unnoticed way to keep actual true & relevant information unavailable to the general public. Unfortunately for americans who otherwise do not know, access is then available only by word of mouth, which then has to involve a special search & online order for something such as this book.
It is fascinating reading. Detailed reviews & info on guns not seen anywhere else along with thought provoking ideas, commentaries and philosophies every american & gun owner should & must know.
I would consider it a 'must read' above all other gun books out there, & I highly reccomend it.
The author has another book, a novel that is referenced below that I also highly recommend also as a 'must read' for the same reasons.

This is Molon Labe!

Book Review: Boston's Gun Bible is both a bible and an Encyclopedia.
Summary: 5 Stars

I just finished reading (the newly revised) Boston's Gun Bible. Without doubt, it is the most comprehensive, pertinent, and informative collection of firearms, firearm related techniques and accessories, buying and selling advice, tactics and training, and "Self defense and the Law" ever assembled in one publication.
Being a professionally sponsored pistol, rifle, and shotgun competitor for over 15 years, I found the chapters on Tactics and Training especially informative. I'm rethinking a few of my home and vehicle "gun placement strategies" based on his advice. And I heartily agree with his emphasis on "Front sight, press, front sight." If you can only remember one thing, that's it.
The section on rifle selection quickly and accurately breaks down the essential components of selecting a rifle for defensive use. This chapter alone would make an excellent book, (and be worth the book's list price), as indeed would all the major chapters in Boston's Gun Bible.
Whether you're a beginner looking for buying advice, an experienced warrior or a seasoned pro - get it - you will benefit from Mr. Boston's knowledge.
