This book is fantastic. It is full of AMAZING recipes and great information about brewing to styles.
For those that don't know, one of the authors, Jamil, is the most awarded homebrewer....ever. He puts all of his recipes in an easy to understand format and also explains how to brew them for both extract and all-grain brewers.
John Palmer's intro and tables are fantastic too.
Great book. I'd also suggest listening to their podcast/live beer radio show, "Brew Strong" on the Brewing Network. It is a technical homebrewing show that will definitely improve the beer you brew. Give it a listen.
