Book Reviews of Building Construction IllustratedBook Review: a must-have for structural&construction engineers Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this book first in 1999, and I found it really helpful to imagine all construction details. Since then I'm keen to obtain every new edition. I honestly urge those who are making detail design and construction engineers as well as civil engineering students to have it and use it.
Book Review: Building Construction Illustrated is a must Summary: 5 Stars
All of Francis D. K. Ching's books are valuable to architecture students. For drafting on the board or CAD, I refer to this, and other Dr. Ching books often. Other Dr. Ching Books I highly recommend are, Architecture: Form, Space, and Order; An Illustrated Dictionary of Architecture.
Book Review: Can't get through Architecture School without this Summary: 5 Stars
This book includes details for virtually every imaginable situation in architecture. It is not only useful for creating details for your own project, but will also help you decipher the details in other people's projects. A necessary supplement to any Materials and Methods course.
Book Review: building construction illistrated Summary: 3 Stars
Book is very good for research and beginners learning building construction. I have used the earlier editions often for research. But the 4th ed. the print and the size of font is smaller and lighter in color and is hard to read even which my glasses on.

I bought this as required text book for my Architectural Course at College, it has been very useful converting my UK Construction industry terminology into USA terminology, easily understood and so many illustrations, recommended !
