Book Reviews of Candy Licker: An Urban Erotic Tale

Book Review: Becareful what you wish for
Summary: 5 Stars

Urban EROTIC Tale is the best possible description for Noire's Candy Licker.

This tale starts with the main character Candy, telling of her life retrospectively. However, once you get into reading the first 2 pages, you are so into this book that you forget that it's a story because it feels like you are just one of the characters behind the scenes. Candy Ray Montana, a street girl that has dreams of becoming the next Beyonce and Destiny's Child sets out on the streets of New York with hopes of finding the big break for her and her girl group. Their break comes one night in The House of Homicide with the CEO and producer Junius Jackson, aka Hurricane. Hurricane is in the audience when Candy's group Scandalous enters the stage and Candy, as the lead singer and performer at heart, gives the performance of a lifetime. She works the stage the audience and Hurricane Jackson into a hot frenzy. After recovering from her performance, he offers Candy and her group a recording contract. But before Candy could finalize the deal, her family is struck with tragedy and Hurricane is there to help her out of a jam or so it seems.

This novel is what I would consider a reading experience of a rollercoaster ride. I enjoyed the premise of this story and the different aspects of a mega producer's life. I appreciated the balance that the author offered by creating a truly distasteful leading male character and offsetting his characteristics by introducing an admirable and endearing secondary male storyline. I enjoyed the author's ability to show that you can be seen as one thing and yet be something/someone totally different. She magnified the idea that things are not always as they appear. I could imagine the events of this story in everyday life, which is a great accomplishment because that meant in my minds eye that the characters were real. I cannot explain the many levels of respect that I have for this author. Noire has given my first erotic reading experience a high standard for others to follow. I consider this a must read and I look forward to the next writing experience of this very talented author. Reviewed By: Eleanor S. Shields, Black Butterfly Review

Book Review: Things are not always as they appear.

Well, what can I say Noire you had my heart from the start with Gino in G-Spot now Knowledge, what is a woman to do... This book had me hooked from the first page to the very last, which was completed in less than three days.

I will also like to add Candy was so not like Juicy at all and Knowledge had a different life from Gino and I felt worse for the things Candy went through with Hurricane. Juicy didn't suffer any of that. Nothing the same happened in the books at all that I could find. Noire made a list of everything that happened in both books and nothing was the same in either of them. I think people just want to have something bad to say about Noire but this is just ludicrous because the only thing the books have the same is that two ladies from New York run into bad men and that happens a lot in all places in this world because of drugs and crime. The exact same things happen in "Blinded," "Grimey," "Thugs and the women who love them," "Wifey," and "Hustlers Wife" which comes to show they all got young girls who get burned by bad men in the drug game but nobody is trying to say they the same.

I have read a lot of street fiction but CANDY LICKER had me speechless; it was too scandalous. Please read with caution. It is not for the faint of heart. But, if you want to walk on the wild side, pick it up. It will definitely hold your interest.

Book Review: The extent that one will go...
Summary: 4 Stars

CANDY LICKER is a hard, flinching, gory and unforgettable tale of a young woman's quest to be in the music industry. It is the tale of a young woman's quest to be in the music industry. It is a hard-hitting narrative that is commanding, gritty, sexual, dramatic and down to the bones - raw! All of the key ingredients for a true street fiction tale.

Candy Raye Montana is a hot girl with a powerful voice, red hair, blue eyes and brown-skinned. She also has a body that will put any video girl to shame. Smart, witty and caring, she is the backbone of her family. The protector and guardian to her drug addicted, scheming mother and her not so innocent younger sister. Candy has a mission: to make it big in the music industry. Along with her two girls, Candy gets an audition with the hottest record producer in the industry, Junius "Hurricane" Jackson. He is the CEO of the House of Homicide recording studio. Candy is on her way. Until she discovers Hurricane's" little" secret which places her in a horror-filled journey through one-man's madness and a head-on collision course that she may not survive.

The one factor I couldn't miss is the plot. It is the same as Noire's first book G-Spot. Of course, it is in a different setting, but it is almost the same storyline. This causes the story to be predictable at times for those who read the first book. Fortunately, CANDY LICKER flows well and holds the reader's attention. It is witty and suspenseful, but also disturbing and mind-blowing. After reading it I felt like I needed to go to church for a spiritual cleansing. Literally! It had all the sexual deviances taught in my college Human Sexuality course. Everything!

I have read a lot of street fiction, from The Coldest Winter Ever to Thugs and The Women Who Loved Them, but CANDY LICKER had me speechless; it was too scandalous. Please read with caution. It is not for the faint of heart. But, if you want to walk on the wild side, pick it up. It will definitely hold your interest.

Book Review: XXXPLOSIVE!
Summary: 5 Stars

Sexy Candy Raye Montana has always dreamed of having a singing career. Candy and her friends Dominica and Vonzelle form the group Scandalous! and get signed to shady music producer Junius "Hurricane" Jackson's number one urban label The House of Homicide. The girls are well on their way to becoming the next TLC or Destiny's Child but how much are they willing to pay for superstar status? Dominica is a true friend to Candy but becomes increasingly suspicious when Vonzelle becomes distant. Candy knows that Hurricane (a.k.a. Cane) is a talented producer but when she becomes his wifey she finds out just how sadistic and possessive he is. To top things off, Cane is a complete disaster in the bedroom. Candy finds herself feeling scared and sexually frustrated. She has to decide just how much of herself she is willing to give up for fame and fortune. Candy better make the right choice because the wrong one could turn deadly. Knowledge is Cane's personal attorney and business manager, but he has his own plans to get out of the game. One of those plans includes getting a taste of Candy. Will Candy see what Knowledge has to offer?

Candy Licker is an extraordinary novel by Noire. Noire skillfully mixes gritty, in-your-face urban drama with a healthy dose of raw sexuality. I really loved the shady music business storyline. The scenes are so descriptive that you'll feel like you're signed to The House of Homicide. Candy Licker gives you a voyeuristic view into the music industry. Noire created characters that are raw and real. She pulled no punches with this story. Be it graphic sex or violence, Noire took both of those aspects to the extreme. This story is not a fairytale and not for the faint of heart. Candy Licker is gripping, action-packed, and entertaining. Candy Licker proves that Noire is a force to be reckoned within the urban erotic genre.

Book Review: Licked by Candy Licker
Summary: 3 Stars

I couldn't wait for Candy Licker, especially after reading G Spot, however Candy Licker didn't quite measure up to what I thought it would be. Noire appears to be a talented writer and I am sure that she is smart enough to know that not all people who read and critique books, are doing it because they are hating. An author I am not, a reader, yes I am. Candy Licker was very much like G Spot, to my dismay. In Candy Licker there's a young lady with a sibling, who is controlled by a deranged lunatic...same as G Spot...In Candy Licker there is a young lady who falls in love with one of the lunatic's soldiers...this time it was the lawyer and not the son....In Candy licker, just like G Spot, the new lover was set up to die...but he doesn't, just like G Spot and then they live happily ever after....just like G Spot...the beatings where unreal and disturbing...the beastality was deplorable...the Cristal bottle and Asia...omg... just to name a few similarities...
To say that this book isn't like G Spot is not true...they are very much like each other... although a lot of street books are similar...the same author should be very careful not to write the same thing, back to back...and that is what happened this time...yeah people are buying this book based on G Spot...but the next book will be the tell all. I sincerely wish Noire nothing but the best...but don't hoodwink the reader... Come HARD or GO HOME!! For all that say this book is nothing like G Spot, either you haven't read G Spot or you are lying...For those of you who haven't read G Spot than go get it and voice your opinion....actually a 2.5 rating...I'm not hating just stating!
