Book Reviews of Candy Licker: An Urban Erotic Tale

Book Review: ME TOO!
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm almost embarrassed to say this, but I've had people try to convince me to bash this book in my online bookclubs too. I really don't understand it, other than to say Noire must be doing something right because a lot of people appear very nervous over her success. Candy Licker was a marvelous read. If G-Spot was off the hook then Candy Licker is off the charts. I was on the edge of my seat as I turned each page. Like other readers, I failed to see where this book was G-Spot retitled. I think they both had poor girls who suffered because of ruthless men, but other than that they were like night and day. Juicy was so special to me because she had very little street smarts. Candy was experienced in the mob and had pulled all kinds of street scams with her mother and had even gone briefly to jail. Where did any of that happen in G-Spot? Candy's boyfriend Knowledge was just the kind of man a woman would want. He was intelligent and ambitious and had a brilliant mind for money and the law. He showed those white people how shrewd his mind was when he went to trial for that mobster. He showed Hurricane how shrewd his mind was when he set him up to take a federal racketeering charge.

Somebody please tell me what page all of this happened on in G-Spot because I was probably reading Candy Licker so fast and shivering at the scary parts that I missed it.

Keep writing these sexy thrillers Noire and I will continue to support you. Your naysayers support you too, every time they bash you they make two more people buy your books to see what they're talking about. I think they call that free publicity.

Book Review: Amazing Story and Insane Readers
Summary: 5 Stars

I must be a bewildered black man because I just finished reading Candy Licker and I don't know what some people are talking about when they say it is just like G-Spot. These books are nothing alike at all. The things that went on in Candy Licker never once happened in G-Spot. I think this is some of that black woman drama where you have one or two key authors in the business who encourage their readers and cronies to bash a rising author who is selling more books than they are. It's very obvious why Noire is a bestselling author. She creates characters and backgrounds for them that no one else is writing about. Sure, other fine writers tell tales of the street game where young girls are abused and men do them wrong. But no one is telling these stories like Noire is. She is the sexy Donald Goines of her times and a few insane readers or probably authors are jealous of that. It makes no sense to me as a black man when I'm in a reading group discussing black books by authors like Noire, and I get side emails asking me to bash this young lady's book in public forms. I just can't do that so the truth is the truth. Candy Licker was mind-blowing. There were no scenes in this book that I saw in G-Spot at all. Both books were awesome although I felt more compassion for Candy because she was a go-getter who was reaching for the stars only to have her dreams smashed before she could accomplish them. Juicy, I felt sad for, but most of her problems she brought on herself. Get this book and judge for yourself. I can't wait to read her next offering. A Reading Black Man Who Just Can't Understand These Horrible Women!

Book Review: Bump what they talkin' folks...Get G-Spot and Candy Licker
Summary: 5 Stars

Okay, Okay... I see your point. So, you say Candy Licker was too much like G-Spot...Not for me it wasn't. I definitely couldn't help but see the similarities, but you have to admit...they were two completely different stories. Yes, Caramel and Jimmy rolled with the traitor, but for two completely different reasons. Jimmy was plain crazy, and Caramel...I don't know what the hell was up with her. Well, yes I do, and so do you. Overall, I'd have to say that I prefer G-spot over Candy Licker. I don't know if that's because I read it first or what. But after I read G-spot, I was simply amazed at all Juicy had gone through. Candy also went through some unnecessary b.s., but Juicy grabbed my heart more. I couldn't even go to sleep after I read that book, and it was like 5 a.m. I would definitely recommend reading both books. Both are highly entertaining, dramatically realistic, depending on what environment surrounds you, and both were heart-wrenching stories that made you feel empathy for the protagonists. Don't get me wrong, Candy Licker was an awesome read, but G-Spot just did something to my heart. I read them both in a day, and as soon as I can forget most of what happens in them...I'm going to read them again. Also people...if you like G-Spot and Candy Licker, or either or, then make sure you get A Mouse that Roared by Dwayne Murray, Sr. There's no possible way you wouldn't love it as well. Noire, I'm going to read everything you ever touched with ink, lady. You are what I call a story-teller. And you make me want to say you're my favorite author. Much blessings to you, Noire.

Book Review: Naughty,Nasty,Nice
Summary: 5 Stars

SECOND TIME AROUND---I LOVE THIS BOOK, IT IS GOOD FROM BEGINNING TO END. SOME READERS THINK G SPOT WAS BETTER BUT I HAVE TO TRUELY DISAGREE ON THAT. IF YOU ARE SENSITIVE TO VULGAR AND GROSE MEANS OF SEXUAL TORTURE, THEN DO NOT READ THIS BOOK. THIS BOOK IS AS REAL AS IT GETS. I READ IT IN ONE DAY BECAUSE IT HAD ME GOING. I DO NOT CONDONE ABUSE TO WOMEN, BECAUSE I AM ONE MYSELF, BUT THIS BOOK MAKES YOU AWARE OF HOW CRUEL SOME PEOPLE CAN REALLY BE. IT SEEMS UNREAL AND SOMEWHAT FICTION, ACTUALLY IT WILL MAKE YOUR STOMACH TURN AT TIMES, BUT THESE THINGS HAPPEN ALL THE TIME AND SOME WOMEN CAN BE IN DENIAL AND NOT HAVE THE CONFIDENCE AND COURAGE TO GET OUT OF THOSE KIND OF RELATIONSHIPS. IN A WAY I LOOK AT THIS BOOK AS A LIFE LESSON AS I DO WITH ALL BOOKS. SOME PEOPLE GO THROUGH THEIR LIFE THINKING THEY ARE INVINCIBLE AND IMMUNE TO THIS KIND OF ABUSE BUT IT CAN HAPPEN. IF YOU READ THIS BOOK WITH A OPEN MIND, TAKE IT AS A LESSON LEARNED. WE SHOULD BE STRONG AND INDEPENDENT ENOUGH TO REALIZE YOU DON'T HAVE TO TAKE THIS KIND OF CRAP FROM NO ONE. I CAN NEVER GET ENOUGH OF NOIRE, REGARDLESS IF THE PLOT OR STORIES SOUND SIMILAR, ALOT OF THE STORIES OF OUR LIVES WOULD SOUND SIMILAR IF WE TOLD IT. THIS BOOK WAS NOT THE SAME STORY. THE ONLY WAY I CAN COMPARE IT IS THE ABUSIVE MEN, AND DEGRADING WOMEN, ITS STILL A GOOD STORY AND EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS ---IF YOU ARE 21 AND OVER--- IT WILL OPEN YOUR EYES AND KEEP THEM OPEN, YOU WON'T EVEN STOP THINKING ABOUT THE DETAILS FOR YEARS TO COME. I KNOW I DO THATS WHY I HAD TO REREAD SOME CHAPTERS AGAIN AND ITS BEEN ABOUT TWO YEARS LATER.

Book Review: A REALLY HOT 5 Stars

Candy Raye Montana has had her share of hard times; her and sister Carmel grew up poor and hungry, with a gorgeous mother who turned tricks for a living. But Candy has dreams, and when Junius "Hurricane" Jackson spots her girl group Scandalous! and signs them to his label, she has every reason to think that her dreams have come true. Especially when 'Cane takes a special, personal interest in Candy. After snatching the beautiful Candy from the deadly grip of a vicious West coast mobster, Candy becomes indebted to 'Cane....and she becomes his woman. It doesn't take Candy long to find out that the polished, muscular exterior that 'Cane presents to the world is only a facade under which lurks horrible, violent tendencies. Not to mention that the highly sexual Candy finds herself perpetually unsatisfied....until she discovers 'Cane's right hand and money man, Percy "Knowledge" Graham. The attraction between the two soon becomes impossible to resist....and it doesn't take long for Candy and Knowledge to travel down a road from which there is no return. But Candy owes her life to Hurricane Jackson, and if there is one thing that Candy herself knows to be true, it's that the street collects on its debts.
A hot story, a hot cast, with a little bit of a message. Readers who liked the author's debut novel, G-Spot, will be even happier with Candy Licker.
