Book Reviews of Canon EOS 30D Digital Field GuideBook Review: Duped Summary: 1 Stars
I figured that the number of pages and Wiley as the publisher were an implied guarantee. The first 100 pages were lifted from the camera's manual, and everything thereafter is pretty much for people who until last week were members of the Lost Colony. The advantages of zoom lenses, tips for wedding pictures, and actually 'brushing up on composition'. If you've had a lobotomy recently, this book is for you.
Book Review: Not lobotomized, just a novice... Summary: 5 Stars
I think this book is great for anyone new to digital SLRs. When you've invested so much in the camera, the small price of this field guide is worth it. It covers the camera's controls as well as some tips on basic photography techniques. The reviewer above thinks that I'd have to have a lobotomy to get something out of this book, but unlike him, I'm new to photography and I've found it to be invaluable.
Book Review: added very litle for me Summary: 3 Stars
The portion of the book that explains camera functions didn't expand very much
beyond the original instruction manual.
The sections on different types of photography, i.e. portraits, macro, landsace,
etc. were too cursory to be of much value. Canon EOS 30D Digital Field Guide
Book Review: Nice step by step book Summary: 4 Stars
Great feature of this book is it lists each function in a step-by-step manner. I can learn this way and then extrapolate. If you are looking for more of a deep reference guide, this is probably not the book for you. If you are saying to yourself, "self - I wonder how I could do x with my Canon 30D", chances are this guide will have the step-by-step for most amateur photographers.
Book Review: Great Reference Book Summary: 5 Stars
This book has all the basics you need to know for your 30D. It's a great book for anyone new to the 30D. It reads well and is easy to understand.
