Nice read, very quick and light. I found myself reading this book after watching the recent film. It gives the reader a deep look into the life of an anguished man from the cotton field hardships and the tragic death of his brother. The musical history was rich and informative, his attention to his audiences was a highlight. He lived a good life, not atypical of many stars during their era.Book Review: Tedious

I loved the movie, "Walk The Line". Since the movie was based on this book, I figured it would be a great read. Some of it has been interesting, but I'm not a religous person and I find all of the spiritual talk tedious. I'm only 3/4 of the way through the book and it will be a struggle to finish it. I skipped a whole chapter last night because it was all about scripture. Not my thing!Book Review: Cash is king

Johnny Cash tells his life story in this book. It's not written in a linear style; he jumps all over the place to different times in his life. But it works; it comes across very conversationally, like Cash was in the room with you saying, "Oh, yeah, and then there was the time that this happened." I really liked the book and I am glad I bought it but it wasn't as in depth as I was hoping it would be. Some of the names he drops would have been easier to follow if he had used last names and the book assumes you have kept up with his history and his career but what it does do is makes me want to purchase "Man in Black" just that much more.Book Review: Cash: The Autobiography
