Book Review: Home run for Rosie
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a well written, thoughtful autobiography. Rosie has a warm spot for Barbara Walters, who she sees as a mother figure. Even though they had a big blowup at one point, it seems they got closer because of it. Like layers of an onion being peeled off their professional and personal relationship and getting down to basic raw emotions.

For all her bluster, Rosie is a sentimental, sensitive person. She also sees in Barbara Walters a person who's been hurt over the years, but who bravely maintains a calm, together persona. She doesn't think Ms. Walters is "old" but rather perhaps physically and mentally tired from the ups & downs of public life as an entertainer.

Well worth reading!

Book Review: A considerate review
Summary: 4 Stars

I love Rosie. This book has gotten a lot of negative press from folks that obviously read a line or two out of context and not folks who read the whole thing. Rosie shows how her mother loved BWalters and that was part of the lure to go work for her. She layers images of her life with her family and that of her idealogy of B. Walters as a mother figure for this motherless daughter, Rosie. It is a book of forgiveness and honestly. I love rosie for all her brazen comments and this tale shows how she knows herself well.

I sincerely wish she would have done Oprah's show and discusses this celebrity detox idea. It is one our celebrity obcessed culture should hear more about.

Book Review: Celebrity Detox
Summary: 1 Stars

Loved her on the View, she was so compelling but the book was so boring I did not finish it. It was just her recap of her experience on the show that we already knew. No new info. A book of complaining of how hard it is to be so rich and well known. She said she lost touch with her kids because she did not drive them to school because she was rich and could hire a driver. Hey Rosie, drive your kids to school yourself and shut-up about how hard it is to be rich. The fact that she was given $2 million to write this garbage shows what a sad world we all now live in. Maybe she can use the money to get some therapy. It's hard being screwed up not rich!

Book Review: Oh Rosie......I expected so much more!
Summary: 1 Stars

Rosie - so boring and embarassing. Been a fan for so long and this one really disappoints. A public slander of Ms. Walters after you leave the show - be bigger than that. Being paid $2 million to tell the world that Barbara Walters isn't really that nice - kind of tacky. I expected more. I wanted a real account of your personal battles with fame, not some National Enquirer piece regarding the "fights" in the makeup room of "The View". As far as the Trump situation - you were completely right and his actions showed us all clearly just the kind of man "The Donald" is - just was a little disappointed this book did the same for you. Peace out!

Book Review: Real
Summary: 5 Stars

This book is Real in the truest sense. Clearly written, with honesty and insight. The Rosie embellished and distorted by the media and the Rosie that wrote this book are quite obviously not the same. I find it baffling that people can loathe HER as they do: HER, not her opinions. A person that has cultivated the rare courage to tell their truth regardless of the repercussions, a life being lived as honestly as possible: How can that not be admired? After reading this book one cannot help but respect Rosie, if not her views. In my opinion failure to do so is a greater reflection upon the reader than it is on the material.
