Book Reviews of Chasing Harry Winston: A NovelBook Review: A waste of time and money Summary: 1 Stars
I am single, in my 30s and live in Manhattan. I could not find one redeeming quality for any of these characters. They are shallow, selfish and not worth caring about. I hated this book, and was sorry I bought it. I ended up skimming after reading halfway through it. The character Adriana is particularly irritating. I think the author was trying to emulate a Sex and the City type of character and ended up creating someone who you could care less about. I actually wanted something bad to happen to her!
I was in an airport and needed to pass the time and I ended up buying this and regretted it. I felt compelled to write a review, even though once I was on this site, I see there are many others. I still wanted to add mine to the mix.
Dont buy, borrow or read this book. You will regret the wasted hours!
Book Review: Terrible Summary: 1 Stars
I am seconding what I've read in the some of the other one star reviews. This venture is a big disappointment...in fact, if it wasn't for the success of the Devil Wears Prada, Weisberger probably wouldn't have been able to publish this. I was expecting a light read that was fun and a distraction from the everyday...instead, this book drags, jumps around, and the heroines are unsympathetic, whiny, and obnoxious. Like some of the other reviewers stated, I as well cannot see what the glue is that holds these women together in friendship. They don't seem to have anything in common except the same desperation to snag a rich guy and get married.
Book Review: Not half bad Summary: 4 Stars
I didnt think this book was that bad at all. No it wasn't the best book I ever read but I thought it was a fun quick entertaining read. I had no issues with any transitions that others may have had. I'm glad she did something different than the first two novels. It's time to break away from the mold before people stop picking up the books. Overall, it wasn't a horrible book and think that others may have just expected too much from her Devil wears Prada days. I would give this a try. Check it out from the library if other reviews scare you away into purchasing- that way, no obligation to buy!
Book Review: Very good Summary: 3 Stars
I really enjoyed this book! It is not the best chic-lit book I have read, but it is definitely worth reading. It was my first novel by Ms Weisberger, even though I saw the movie "The Devil Wears Prada". I like this author and look forward to reading more of her work.
