Book Review: Worth its weight in gold

This book is very good. It has allowed me to do many things that would have cost me over $1000 to have an electrician do. I am using it on my first major project (large rec room in my basment) and it has been my best source of information. It has great coverage of all areas (repairs, upgrades, new work, etc.) and is well written with good illustrations. As an example, I needed to install a 3-way switch on my stairway and I looked at some other books for examples. This book provided my solution along with the several different possibilities for running the circuit. With examples as thorough as this one, I knew I was doing the job correctly.
I have been using the book for about 6 months and it has not steered me wrong. There is a lot covered in the book, so take your time to learn the correct way (the book will show you). Make sure your work environment is safe (test before you touch). Don't overwork yourself (it is easy to rush and make mistakes when you are tired) and the book will save you money. The best part of it is the confidence I have gained from doing the work myself.
