Book Review: A nice overview, but not worth the money...

If you're purchasing this book to learn how to conduct a thorough paranormal investigation, you're wasting your money. I've read several books on the topic and this one is the worst. Given that I had previously read other books on the topic, this book didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. It's also extremely short at 52 pages and there isn't a whole lot of text on each page. I read it in about an hour. On a positive note, it is cheap, well written and it does contain useful information. However, it is far from thorough and could not be a considered a guide to conducting a paranormal investigation due to the fact that it ignores so many important elements of paranormal investigation. If you're interested in getting into the field and you're looking for an introductory text, I would consider reading "The Everything Ghost Hunting Book" by Melissa Martin Ellis. "The Everything Ghost Hunting Book" is obviously written by a Ghost Hunters fan who embraces the TAPS methodology to paranormal investigation. Even still, it leaves plenty of stones unturned, but is still in my opinion a good "introductory text". From there I would recommend reading "Paranormal Technology: Understanding the Science of Ghost Hunting" by David M. Rountree. This is undeniably the best book I've read on the topic and quite possibly the best written. But if you're not interested in "real scientific" paranormal investigation and just want to plod around a room with an EMF detector and a digital recorder, stick to the "Everything Ghost Hunting Book".
